The Role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To support the Design Manager in the running of an effective Design Department with the primary goal of developing best in market products.
- To treat each new product design as an individual project and fully project manage the product from inception to completion.
- To produce detailed specifications for sign off based on the information provided by the customer.
- Produce detailed project time plans and SMART milestones.
- Design a product based on our patented Thrubeam® technology, ensuring consistency of design from earlier projects, whilst having an appreciation of newly identified manufacturing issues which may/may not be solvable as part of design process.
- Complete all calculations for product load and beam deflections, ensuring that results comply with relevant European standards at all times.
- Design production tooling to allow the product to be volume manufactured. Ensure that tooling design is consistent with current in house practices, and where design improvements are needed to assist manufacturing, and that all changes have been fully tested prior to implementation wherever possible.
- Completion of all laminate design sheets and foam core drawings applicable with each product.
- Complete detailed Product Bill of Materials for costing and procurement processes.
- Complete detailed Tooling Bill of Materials for capital appropriation, procurement and ongoing maintenance requirements.
- Assist the process engineer in the design of assembly jigs necessary for volume production of each new product.
- Through process improvement ensure that all design output continues to meet and exceed targeted quality standards.
- To ensure that within the Design Department all work is completed to support the securing and maintenance of ISO9001/2000 accreditation.
- To work with the Health and Safety Department to ensure an organised and safe working environment to HSE regulations.
- To promote and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving products and manufacturing processes.
- To support all new product initiatives.
- Through product design assist in the development of an effective manufacturing process to work towards ?zero defects?
- To work with the Senior Design Engineer.
- To meet individual and design team performance targets as defined.

Specification
- An HND/Degree or similar qualification in mechanical engineering and/or a minimum 3 years experience in a similar design role.

- Ability to work under pressure to meet business targets, with minimum supervision.

One of our leading clients is looking for 2 Part time Team Managers to support their Inbound and Outbound contact centre. You will be responsible for a team of advisors acting as first point of contact for all customers regarding non-payment of their bills. Your team will act in an advisory capacity providing customers with the right level of support and advice on the best way to manage the outstanding debt, setting up payment plans or advising on county claims/judgements. - Be able to advise colleagues and clients on electrical, electronic and embedded software issues
- Manage and contribute to PCB and Embedded software design being carried out by associates and/or sub-contractors
- Manage and contribute to electronic or electrical systems testing and integration.
- Working closely with clients, facing customers and advising them accordingly
The Specification
- Degree in Electronic engineering (2:1 or above)
- Formal qualification in OR a good understanding of Physics
- Industry experience in Electronics design (Analogue and Digital)
- Industry experience in Embedded software development
- Specific experience of building and commissioning electronic and software based prototypes
- An understanding of the fundamentals of Mechanical design
- Excellent analytical, innovative and creative skills
