You will be degree educated (within a construction based subject) and must have experience of working for a large main contractor. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior QS/Commercial Manager with experience of working on major projects within the civils environment - Ideally you will have experience of working on Power stations - Projects will range from 300 million dollars to 600 million dollars so knowledge and experience of working on big projects is essential. You must also have a good track record with a good all round general knowledge and have experience of working for a main contractor.
Key responsibilities will include:
Direct and manage the development of all contract activities from request for quotations to contract close-out. Assisting operations staff as appropriate in commercial matters, for example, claims, contractual problems, dispute and the set up of administration procedures. Ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out in a manner that optimises financial outcome for the Joint Venture. Overseeing the administration of the Project Deed including the management of variations, time and risk. Such other reasonable duties as directed by the Commercial Manager.
They are seeking a proactive individual with extensive Commercial Management experience within the civil/Power Station construction industry. You will possess strong negotiation skills, professional business ethic, superior communication and people skills and a commitment to developing and maintaining a safe working environment.

Reporting directly to our Business Unit Manager, you will ideally possess:
Previous site engineering experience
Preparation of estimates on civil projects valued at £30 million plus
Working knowledge of 1st principle estimating
Civil engineering degree or tertiary equivalent
The ability to communicate and manage people within a large organization
Superior relationship building and leadership capabilities
