Hours: Full-time thirty six hour week

Responsible to: Head of Information Systems

Job Purpose: To develop and administrate the College’s internal web systems and MIS applications, including: SharePoint, IIS and moodle VLE. To assist the Head of Information Systems in promoting and supporting the use of ILT across the curriculum.

Duties and Responsibilities
The post holder will be required to:
Main duties
1. Maintain, develop and update moodle site, co-ordinating the submission of various forms of content from other sources.
2. Organise training and create support materials for staff use of moodle.
3. Maintain, develop and update Columbus (MIS) site, co-ordinating the submission of various forms of content from other sources.
4. Organise training and create support materials for staff use of Columbus.
5. Maintain IIS server and work with Web Developer to ensure smooth running of internal and external websites.
6. Administer the granting of user access to online services.
7. Maintain, develop and update MIS applications (IIAPs) in coordination with Data Manager
8. Generate user feedback and produce reports that summarise the provision, quality and usage of materials/facilities.
Other duties
1. Promote equal opportunities for students and staff.
2. Support/Advise Web Developer in developing external website
3. Undertake other related tasks as required by the Head of Information Systems.
4. Undertake other tasks as required by the Principal after due consultation.
The responsibilities of the post may be reviewed in the light of the needs of the College, after consultation with the post holder.
Person Specification/Selection Criteria
The post-holder will be expected to have:
1. A willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the College.
2. Educated to A level standard preferably in a computer related subject.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, MySQL/MSSQL, PHP (or other web development language), IIS (or other web server)
4. Preferable knowledge of Moodle, Unit-e, Columbus, IIAPPs, Crystal Reports/MS Reporting Systems
5. Good written and oral communication skills.
6. The ability to manage and communicate effectively and to establish professional relationships with all staff and students.
7. Vision and enthusiasm for the future of intranet development in the College.
8. Experience and/or appreciation of post-16 education and training and the needs of young people at this stage of their educational development.
9. Experience of working effectively in a team.
10. An aptitude for following instructions and operating prescribed systems.
11. The skills to organise their own work and meet deadlines.
12. An understanding of and commitment to the College policy on equal opportunities and an ability to contribute to the implementation of the policy through the duties of the post.
