As a Principal Technical Consultant, you will be responsible for the development of Application Portfolio Management. You will deliver fully integrated and highly manageable future state infrastructures. All systems designed by you must be technically appropriate, cost effective and profitable.
Predominantly a consulting appointment with some pre sales aspects, the role demands a broad and detailed infrastructure technology background combined with general business skills. The ideal candidates are technologists with in depth technical solutions design experience, who understand the commercial and technical needs of businesses and can translate this into a design solution that meets the business needs and the cost requirements of customers. Potential future career development offers the opportunity of becoming a thought leader and SME in this field.
Candidates will have held a technology consultant role within a SI or Consultancy and will have experience of delivering value propositions across all aspects of a business. A minimum of 5 years' industry experience is essential.
Technical experience required:
• Experience of designing and owning Microsoft based architecture solutions
• Enterprise application migration and desktop virtualization
• Career background to include at least 4 years and experience of Microsoft technical consulting at enterprise level preferably with team leadership
• Cloud Computing and IAAS
• Virtualisation, VMWare, Hyper V, Cisco, Citrix etc,
• Has worked for a consultancy in a fee-based delivery role.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft operating systems at a server/desktop level
• Strong knowledge of deployment technologies with SMS / SCCM
• Can demonstrate solid knowledge of desktop technologies and creation of core desktop builds

Core experience required:
• Bringing specific design and delivery experience to bear for the client’s advantage, leveraging skills in areas such as:
o Application packaging a deployment
o Enterprise application migration
o Enterprise desktop virtualisation
o Cloud services and Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS)
o Microsoft based infrastructure skills
• Managing commercial client relationships including scope and change requests, working with or without project management expertise depending on size and complexity of project.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant commercial or technical environment with at least 2 years demonstrable success in consulting or project equivalent.
• Strong in chosen consulting specialisation and demonstrates adaptability to embrace new disciplines.
• Sound experience of at least one major business vertical (e.g. Telco, Financial Services).

Technical experience required:
Candidates will have a background in the design and delivery of Enterprise-level application migration strategies leveraging the following technical components:
• Application migration tools – e.g Citrix AppDNA, ChangeBase
• Knowledge of application lifecycle management with proven knowledge of application virtualisation infrastructures.
• Virtualisation technologies – VDI, App-V, ThinApp, XenApp etc.
• Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
• Active Directory – Domain Services & Federation Services

Description

The Procurement Manager is accountable for managing and capitalizing on renewals (licencing, maintenance etc) and also the upselling of IT accessories, laptops, laptop bags, cables, mouse etc., to a multitude of customer accounts.
Responsibilities and deliverables are as follows:
1. Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
2. Ensure that the company’s pricing structures are competitive and that the company is buying in at best possible price.
3. Order equipment, licensing and services against negotiated and appropriately approved contracts.
4. Review and agree quotations.
5. Create and maintain ‘standard equipment’ price-lists
6. Generate additional sales through production of ‘special offer’ newsletters detailing special deals negotiated with suppliers.
