Purpose of Job
•To carry out all service tasks at client sites on Combined Heat and Power units
•To maintain client satisfaction whilst optimising company revenue

Principle Accountabilities
•You will work from a home base, travelling daily to assigned client sites to perform service and maintenance tasks on approximately 20 Combined Heat and Power units in your area
•You will respond to breakdowns as directed by the Regional Service Manager and/or Service Desk
•You will act as 1st Engineer for units in your area, in accordance with Service Department guidelines
•You will carry out, with high levels of attention to detail and professionalism, all service, maintenance and repair work on customer sites in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and/or company service instructions, ensuring units are kept in a clean condition
•You will be qualified to minimum O.N.C., or equivalent, in an engineering subject
•You will be expected to carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by your Line Manager
Financial Authority
•You have the authority to spend up to £100 to rectify a defect on an “Inclusive Contract” site.
•You must obtain the approval of your Regional Service Manager, or Service Manager, for spend in excess of £100 for defect rectification
•You must know which type of contract applies to a site e.g. SVC1, SVC3, or Optima, and if there are any site specific aspects to that contract. If there is uncertainty then you must contact the Service Desk/Finance Department.
•You must be aware of the financial aspects (chargeable vs non-chargeable) of site contracts before allocating spend to a site.
•You have the responsibility to maintain Van Stock at the pre-set float levels agreed with HQ. Replenishment should be made by means of a Van Stock request faxed to HQ Stores Controller.
•You must return expense claims promptly in line with Finance Department procedures
Reporting Structure & Personal Objectives
•You will have direct line reporting responsibility to your Regional Service Manager
•Your Regional Service Manager reports directly to the Service Manager
•The Service Manager reports directly to the Managing Director
•You will attend routine regional Service Meetings. These occur at least quarterly. You will also attend other company meetings/seminars as directed by the Service Manager
•Personal objectives are set at your annual appraisal with your Regional Service Manager and/or Service Manager, and will help you develop within your role.

•To carry out all service tasks at client sites on Combined Heat and Power units throughout the U.K

Essential Experience & Qualifications
2-3 years experience working on or with CHP ( Combined Heat & Power )units/Sets
MUST be Gas Safe Registered
Generator Maintenance, Installation and Servicing
South East based
Salary - Circa £35k + OT + Lap Top + Mobile Phone + Company Car + Performance incentive
