This person will assist and process all quality activities associated with the manufacturing cycle.
Responsibilities
* Goods inwards inspection
* Liaising with supplier and giving feedback to supplier
* Rejecting non-conformance
* Raising appropriate concessions regarding non-conformance
* Liaising with shop floor to address issues
* Root cause investigation (8D methodology)
* Stock investigation and non-conforming stock control
* Final product inspection
* Customer complaints investigation (internal and external)
Skills and Experience
* Windows and Microsoft packages (excel, word)
* Excellent understanding of engineering principles and engineering drawings
* Quality process knowledge
* Inspection equipment use (mics/verniers/shadowgraph etc.)
* Experience/knowledge of ERP system would be beneficial

A hands-on Quality Manager / QA Mgr is required for an engineering company in Leeds, Yorkshire.
The role offers an opportunity for the right candidate to develop and progress their career and gain a wealth of practical experience.
You will be responsible for developing, revising and implementing quality standards and policies throughout the organisation; ensuring that products are fit for purpose by meeting customer requirements through management of the quality management system; and you will act as the catalyst for continuous improvement activities. The role includes the review and analysis of on-going quality performance against plans, budgets and strategies.
Reporting to the MD the main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* management of the ISO9001 quality management system
* Organising and controlling all internal system audits, comprising the generation of an annual audit schedule, and managing external quality system audits
* dealing with customers, suppliers and colleagues to resolve technical enquiries and issues surrounding none conforming product
* overall management of inspection department activities
* quality performance reporting, together with appropriate analysis of performance
* ensuring customer specified quality documentation is completed
* identifying and driving improvement in the quality management systems, and business generally
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
* knowledge of ISO9000 and other quality standards and models
* good communication skills
* ability to represent the company on a professional level
* good supervisory, management and networking capabilities
* well-developed problem solving skills
* engineering sector experience
* experience of metallurgy OR an understanding of metallurgy when it comes to material standards and testing metals

Experience using an MRP control system is required.
You will be responsible for planning, formulating, organising, controlling and directing production activities.
Preparing production schedules for the manufacturing of all parts.
Preparing production reports and presenting to the management fortnightly.
Resolving problems.
Assist in coordinating the placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material in line with customer requirements.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to influence and strong acccounatbility preferred.
