My client, a highly successful global organisation, has several openings for experienced application developers or analyst programmers to join a large and well-respected team, based in city centre Edinburgh.
You will be heavily involved in the full lifecycle development of business critical applications, having excellent client-facing analysis and technical skills. You will ideally have worked in a regulated industry before - such as utilities, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals or finance. The key skills centre on .Net development with an understanding of Oracle development using PL/SQL

Cathcart Associates are helping or UK wide client to find experienced SharePoint Consultants for their Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
My client is a highly reputable and successful IT consultancy, and want to bring on board talented, innovative Share Point developers/ Technical Architects to work on client Share Point systems.
You should have a comprehensive understanding of the .Net framework, and ideally come from a development or programming background. Additionally, you should be accustomed to working with the full SDLC and have completed the delivery of several successful projects.
Experience in a technical consultancy is not essential, though you should have the drive and desire to move into a fast-paced, innovative consultancy environment. You should have strong communication skills and be comfortable interacting at all levels of an organisation, as integrating with various departments and corporate levels while working end to end on projects will be an integral aspect of the position.
Experience with the following technologies is required:
** MOSS 2007/Sharepoint 2010 ** SQL Server 2008 ** .Net - C# ASP.Net ** Agile/TDD, UML

Cathcart Associates are currently recruiting for a .Net developer to join our Niche client in central Aberdeen. The company has strong ties with the oil and gas industry, and build a variety of software solutions and engineering applications used in the sector.
No experience in the sector is required, as this will give you the opportunity to break into a global sector, working with a niche team of specialised developers in a leading organisation. You will be working with the most cutting edge MS technologies, particularly C#/VB.Net and SharePoint.
Ideally you should have 1-3 years experience in a .Net Environment, as you will be expected to continue building a tool which will be deployed shortly. The company are looking for candidates with good degrees in a relevant subject (computer science, Artificial Intelligence etc), strong communication skills as you will be interacting with various teams and clients; and someone who can take the initiative on projects and want to develop their career. However you will receive mentoring and training from the current developers, to ensure that you are up to date with the most cutting edge development methods.
You will be joining as the third member of the development team, and so must be able to work with others. This small, concentrated environment will have a vast amount of autonomy and will work on a variety of projects, from application development to client on site maintenance.
Other skills included but are not limited to: .Net C#/VB.Net SQL Server 2005 2008 They currently use Share Point 2003 and will be upgrading to SharePoint 2007 soon. If you have experience with SharePoint or MOSS this would be beneficial though not essential, as you will receive good exposure to it on a day to day basis. It is a fast paced environment, and a great career opportunity.
