Position Summary:
The primary role of this position is to design, construct, implement and support changes in the company’s Embossing and Data Prep arena.
Responsibilities include documenting functional and technical solutions, building and testing changes and providing support for those changed during the System Integration and User Acceptance testing phases before providing final support of the change in the Production Environment.

Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years VisionPLUS application development or support sound programming skills in COBOL (5 Years+) and proficiency with IBM mainframe platform
• Familiarity with a software Design and Development methodology
• Previous deployment or support experience preferred but not essential
• A minimum level understanding of the credit card industry

The role requires experience of representing IT at Board level and in particular defining and delivering IT strategies, preferably in the insurance sector.

Good knowledge of the General Insurance market is vital. Experience is also required in managing multiple IT disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, systems architecture, quality assurance etc.

Finally, there is the requirement to lead the IT department, developing the management and motivating the team to provide a high quality, good value service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement IT strategy in support of the Group’s core objectives

· Ensure that IT architecture is appropriate for robust and efficient delivery of the service

· Responsibility for researching and evaluating new technologies

· Direct the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures and standards relating to information and telecommunication systems
