UNDERWRITING SUPPORT
Salary from £16k to £22k
Job Purpose:
Support Construction, SME Combined and Property Owners underwriting staff in all areas
Monitoring and chasing receipt of risk and payment bordereaux
Checking bordereaux received for consistency and accuracy
Processing data, survey requests and issuing policy documentation as required
Ensure agreed service levels are maintained
Handle general enquiries
Reports to: Director/Office Manager
Location: Leigh on Sea
Required Tasks:
To comply with FSA Regulations
Develop self to maximise personal contribution to the role
Ensure compliant with legal/regulatory requirements, including maintaining up to date knowledge of products and processes
Demonstrate the values of the business through appropriate behaviours
Be aware of and draw attention to possible financial and reputational risk to the business
Work in accordance with binding authorities issued to us be insurers

Demonstratively meet Service Level Agreements and agreed deadlines with Insurers and Brokers

Deal with incoming enquiries from brokers, insurers and other third parties in a professional and timely manner
Manage documents including New Business, Mid Term Adjustment and Renewal
Promptly deal with diarised items
Mainly office based role
Develop a personal relationship with individuals internally and externally
Skills:
Previous Administrative experience within the Insurance Industry
Preferably experience as an Underwriters Assistant or similar
Proficient in MS Office and with aptitude to use other MS Windows-based software
Accuracy and attention to detail
Communication skills - able to communicate to people with various levels of knowledge, over the telephone and in writing

Position Summary:
• The primary role of this position is to analyse client requirements and construct, implement and support changes in a specific area of the company.
• Responsibilities include reviewing client submitted change requests, designing and building client document templates for Card Carried and PIN mailers and providing support for those changes during the System Integration and User Acceptance testing phases before providing final support of the change in the Production environment. The role also looks at the configuration and administration of some standard asks within the EMV/plastics environment.

Job Description
To ensure that Scheme-mandated changes are being addressed on the MSIP platform by the support and development teams based in the UK and the US, such that the required functionality is delivered to the company, the two main UK clients on MSIP.
Ensure that any technical evaluation or solution meets both the requirements and overall purpose
Coordinate the production of a User Acceptance Test plan and the writing of test scripts
Coordinate testing support, arrange and execute testing transaction input, coordinate the review of test output and the singing off of the test script results
Coordinate Card Scheme Certification testing, when required, by liaising with the Card Schemes and IT to complete the agreed set of scripts and execute them within the agreed timeline
To provide technical and project management assistance to your client and the company on MSIP with regards to client-specific development or projects.
Technically, this support will include some of the following;
Support analysis and resolution where appropriate for Merchant Issues and major service escalations from Customers and Senior Management Teams
To interface with support teams to ensure their knowledge remains current and to a high standard and build strong relationships
Provide an understanding of the customer and business impact of any major merchant impacting issued supporting communication to all parties as appropriate, to enable the fast response decision making process
Build a strong link between Client Management and Operational areas
Work in partnership with the company’s areas to ensure customer service level targets are met for all services supported by the Company
Work in partnership with the company areas to identify and support the development of quality improvements
Introduce and implement initiatives to improve skills sets across the relationship
Recognise any deficiencies on services and suggest methods of improvement
Liaise between the internal/external business community and the IT organisation in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
Check the value of Intra processed via PTS matches the value of Intra processed through a combination of TRAMS and Equasion
Check submission data, to ensure that there are no underlying issues
Review merchant fees to ensure account integrity
Review Scheme documentation for potential impacts to the company’s systems

Review UK Card proposed changes (again for impacts)
Resolve Interchange Rejects

Provide expertise to complex and specific merchant issues that require analysis and resultant resolution

To provide technical support to clients in the set up and management of their Tiered Billing Systems on MSIP, where queries or issues arise
Candidate Requirements
A good knowledge of Acquiring processes is essential.
A high level of interpersonal skills to liaise with staff at all levels
Experience and ability in using soft skills to defuse potentially damaging client situations
Ability to develop relationships with both Technical and Lines of Business (LOB)
Experience of using IT systems to deliver business to business customer solutions
Able to adapt to change and handle multiple projects
High standard in the use of Excel, Outlook and Word Access, PowerPoint and Project- would be useful, but are not essential
Experience of project management, including the ability to apply project methodology in a business environment would be beneficial
Experience of process/change management would be beneficial
Knowledge of Equasion, Merchant Star International Platform (MSIP), Payment System processing
Knowledge of the interfaces between Merchant Star International Platform and the company
