This established manufacturing company are looking to recruit an Electrical / Mechanical Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to work a night shift. As Maintenance Engineer you will be working within a fast moving production environment on a range of manufacturing systems which will include conveyors, packaging lines, metal detectors, inverters, check weighers, labellers, printers, motors, gears, drives, pneumatics, PLC's for fault finding (I/O signal fault finding), control panels, bearings, etc. The position will be responsible for performing PPM checks as well as fault finding on break down issues. For this role you will be an Electrically qualified Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical skills sets, ideal qualifications will be to City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 in Electrical Engineering with hands-on mechanical skill sets. A background of recently working within a Food / Pharmaceutical / Fast Moving Packaging environment would also be of interest. Hours of work will be a 4on 4off nights 6pm to 6am shift pattern, remuneration in return for this position will be a salary circa £32,500 inclusive of shift allowance.

SHIFT ENGINEERS (ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL) This is an exciting time to join this fast growing food processing company as one of their team of Maintenance Engineers. Involved in planned preventative and breakdown maintenance of production equipment you will take responsibility for ensuring optimum plant efficiency. The plant has varied equipment across the site which includes conveyor systems, packaging equipment, coolers, hoppers and more. For this role you must have extensive 'hands on' cross functional (electrical/mechanical) experience and ideally have previously worked within a high volume manufacturing environment preferably within a food processing environment. If you are Electrically biased you must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of PLC systems with fault finding skills, along with the ability to replace mechanical moving parts. If you are a Mechanical biased engineer you will have experience of fitting, stripping down machines for repair and have the ability to diagnose electrical faults using PLC systems (i/o). It is essential that the successful candidate for this role can read electrical and mechanical drawings and have experience of working with pneumatic systems. In return the company offers a salary of around £34,000 + benefits, this is based on working on a 12 hour rotating continental shift pattern covering days and nights.

Equipment includes, Illapack / Tetra-Pak cartons packaging lines, conveyors, steam pressure cookers/steam systems, chiller tunnels, filling machines, slicers, dicers, steam peelers, etc. For the role you will need to be a timeserved electrically biased multi skilled maintenance engineer with experience of working within FMCG or food processing environments, able to perform electrical installations including calculating cable sizes, etc as part of daily duties. Qualifications that you will be required to have for the role will include a City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering. If you have 17th Edition Regs this would be advantageous as would fault finding ability using PLC systems and Test and Inspection. Mechanically you will need to be able to change bearings, motors, gears, pneumatics, able to turn / mill (turn down a shaft end to fit a bearing), able to size bearings, etc. Welding - TIG / MMA (Repair welding not coded) with actual hands on experience of working on steam systems.
