My client is currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager based in the Ellesmere Port area. Successful candidates should be willing to travel within the UK and abroad to sister sites and happy to work shift patterns if required.
Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of the company H&S management systems and procedures, in line with OHSAS 18001 and all current legislation
Represent the company at external audits on all Health and Safety matters (OHSAS 18001, TS16949 etc)
Design and develop written Health and Safety procedures
Responsible for the co-ordination of risk assessment activities, including record keeping
Analysis of risk assessment, near miss and accident data to present to senior management team

Developing long-term strategies to reduce accidents that are data driven
Assessment of training activities
Develop training programmes to reduce work place accidents and incidents
Deliver level 1 training so Managers and Supervisors can roll out training activities
Manage and support all documentation related to MHE
Represent the company at any internal safety reps meetings, customer or supplier safety meetings presenting data, recording actions and monitoring progress of those actions
Working with the operational teams to improve the working environment, reducing the impacts to the employee from operational activities
Conducting internal audits, work place inspections and H&S tours to the prescribed frequency
Knowledge / Skills required
Ideally Graduate calibre, with a minimum of a NEBOSH certificate
Experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Familiar with OHSAS 18001 and ISO TS16949 management systems
Internal auditing qualifications for OHSAS 18001 and ISO TS16949 management systems
Computer literate - Microsoft Office applications
Good communication skills, written and verbal (procedures, presentations and training)
Clean drivers licence
Willingness to continually update personal skills to ensure compliance to legal and statutory requirements
