Site Engineer required for a forthcoming Highways agency "pinch point" alleviation schemes up to a value of roughly £2 Million. Works will involve reconstruction of existing traffic hot spots including traffic islands and major junctions to ease flow of traffic through the areas. Experienced in ideally highways works, you will have a proven project history of working on major civil engineering schemes and will be educated to at least HNC level. SMSTS would be advantageous while a current CSCS card is essential.

Our client, a nationally respected and recognised Civil Engineering contractor are looking to recruit a Estimator to work within their Process Energy Pipelines department, based in London. They are looking for someone that has experience in working on either Process Energy/pipelines projects or alternatively someone with a background in the Utilities market. The role would include the following: Attend project start-up meetings and make site visits. Produce enquiry schedules for scope of works & packages required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued. Identify tender deliverables required from the Project Designers. Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and where necessary enters into correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements. Prepare BOQ / accurate quantity takeoffs for scopes of projects on estimating programs (such as Excel, Causeway, CCS Candy). Input to project risk register and attends a project risk meeting in the presence of Estimators, Planning Engineers, Design Co-ordinators and Clients representatives. Attend tender price settlement meetings in the presence of the Estimating Team Leader and Senior Management, Attend Tender Handover meetings in the presence of Estimating Team Leader and projects team. Prepare commercial documents for tender handover to projects team. Carry out duties / functions under JMS Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems. Assist the Estimating Team Leader in promoting interaction with the appropriate functional leader to facilitate successful development of solutions to problems and estimates. Assist the Estimating Team Leader in working with the site commercial team to ensure budgets & programs are reflective of actual delivery experience. Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tenders. As necessary provide supports and respond to tender queries made by project team personnel. Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity and provide feedback to Estimating Team Leader. Maintain a close working relationship with senior management and other business units. Other duties as required by the Estimating Team Leader. There are currently 2 junior estimators and a Senior in the department, and the successful canddiate would need to be able to work alongside them as a team to complete tenders. They are NOT looking for a QS that has also done some Estimating.

The role has the following responsibilities: Identify risks which may occur on site and assist in devising appropriate controls for inclusion in Method Statements and to mitigate risk. Develop good working relationships; providing support and guidance to construction site management teams, enabling them to manage their site in line with current legislation and Company procedures. Engage with site operatives to provide support and guidance. Assist and support the project management team to deliver construction projects focusing on zero harm. Provide advice to site and operational management on client specific SHEQ requirements. Assist in the development presentation and delivery of SHEQ training courses, where required. Visit sites and undertake inspections and audits as required to ensure controls are in place and working. Support the delivery teams to maintain the highest standards on site. Identify event trends and discuss at project and site level. Monitor and review legislative changes and the potential impact on the business. Work with Development Teams to ensure risks and impacts are considered and addressed at an early stage of scheme development. Plan and deliver SHEQ training and toolbox talks to a range of employees across the project, producing additional training materials where required and ensuring all training records are up-to-date. Support the occupational health activities as required. Any tasks as required by the SHEQ Manager to provide support to the site delivery teams. You must be qualified with a NEBOSH Construction Certificate (General may be accepted as a substitute) and it is essential that you have an Environmental qualification. You will need to have at least 2 years experience. If you do not have the previous qualifications/experience your application will not be considered.

The role will be based in London. Our client are currently recruiting for a CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) to be based in Swindon as part of their Rail team. The successful candidate will have the responsibility for all engineering activities applicable to their specific contract including those undertaken by sub-contracted organisations. The CEM may act as the contractor's responsible engineer (CRE) for a single engineering discipline. The Role: - The CEM is accountable for all design and / or construction, as applicable to the specified works; specifically its ability to integrate with all other design, construction and existing infrastructure, and its compliance with all applicable standards, legislation, contract requirements and specifications - Where separate CRE (design) and CRE (construction) are appointed for the same discipline the CEM is accountable for defining and documenting the split responsibilities between the two interfacing CRE's. The CEM shall pay particular attention to the maangement of interfaces between design, installation and testing activities. - The CEM shall implement an IDC process or utilise an IDC process implemented by another organisation as agreed for the project for all design documentation which has an interface with other engineering disciplines. - The CEM accountability for their design remainds unchanged where the IDC process is to be implemented by another organisation. - Any design issued to Network Rail for acceptance shall be approved by the CEM confirming that such design: - has been produced by competent designers - has been subject to a design check by competent checkers - has been subject to the agreed mentorship processes subject to such arrangements being required - has been translated from the design on to any copy documents without error - has had all CRE's includes evidence that the designer has considered design risk as required by the construction regulations You must been qualified as a minimum with a HNC and have at least 5 years on site experience (preferably 10) within the rail industry.

The role will be based in London and working on the Crossrail project for the JV company. You may also be utilised on other tunnelling projects around the capital as and when required. Ideally you will have heavy civil's or Rail experience (if not tunnelling) and my client will then look to train you further as required. You must be educated to HNC/HND level at least in a Civil Engineering discipline.
