Our client is looking for a commercial gas engineer based around the M62 corridor area to provide a technical service with the minimum of supervision to the companys clients in respect of a variety of building services, repairs, maintenance and installation.
They are looking to a high calibre commercial Heating Engineer with a proven track record in the servicing of oil/gas boilers, mechanical plant combustion and all associated HVAC across a variety of commercial contracts .
Applicants should be Gas Safe registered and have heating contractor experience that includes general servicing, fault finding and breakdowns. Applicants MUST have experience of working on commercial heating systems and electrical knowledge, while not essential, would be helpful.

Purpose Of The Job
To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels, and respond to site engineering emergencies.
Undertake small installation works and any other duties requested from Managers.
Key Responsibilities
1 Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
2 Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
3 Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
4 Ensure that domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
5 Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
6 Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept and computerised maintenance system is kept up to date.
7 Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
8 Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, site operating processes and operate there safe systems of work.
9 To develop a good working relationship with all members of UK company staff and clients staff.
10 Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
11 Ensure a professional image of our client is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
12 Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.
13 Part of callout rota covering other 2 other sites in London and Reigate
Accountabilities
1 Accountable to Contract Supervisor and Contract Manager.
2 The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.
3 This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility.
4 Accountable for maintaining appropriate stocks of spares and consumables, and ensuring their secure storage and controlled issue.

Requirements
Must be electrically qualified 17th edition and City and Guilds as a minimum
Building services experience working in financial or hospitality sectors
Flexible working
Ability to manage own workloads with little supervision
Good commercial knowledge
Experience with running computerised maintenance systems
Experience of supervising sub-contractors.
Operation of BMS systems
Computer literate.
Good customer facing skills.
Must have driving license and own vehicle
Desirable
Air conditioning or combustion qualifications could be an advantage.
Formal Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH)
Experience of running multiple sites

The Role:
The successful Electrical Maintenance Engineer will carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and extra works/emergencies in accordance with the contract requirements on electrical services and associated systems.
Main Duties:
Report plant problems/failures that may impact on the clients business.
Ensure that all plant and BMS checks are completed on time, and all problems found are recorded and communicated to the Supervisor
To carry out PPM in accordance with set schedules, ensuring engineering standards are maintained in order.
To ensure onsite quality assurance procedures are adhered to in all respects and to maintain accurate records/documentation associated with the mechanical aspects of the PPM and plant.
To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all Helpdesk related reactive maintenance issues, associated with the electrical infrastructure and the heating and ventilation systems, pumps, water tanks, valves, pipe work and associated mechanical systems or as directed.
Repairs of electrical and mechanical systems, controls and associated systems.
Skills / Qualifications:
City & Guilds Electrical discipline competency Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent
