Reads drawings, blueprints and job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as feed rate, depth of cut, fixtures and cutting tools to be used.

Installs and adjusts the holding device and fastens speed cutting and shaping tools into position to enable the operator to produce finished work pieces to specifications.

Selects and sets speed and feed of machine according to specified material and finish.

Changes worn cutting tools and adjusts operation of machine such as cutting speed, feed rate or depth of cut, when required.

Replaces parts on machines as directed.

Ensures that orders are completed to the correct standard, within budget and on time.

Ensures that orders are correctly opened and closed on the Company s computerised system.

Actively monitors working practices and provides feedback to improve efficiencies and job profitability.

Ensures that the Company s Health & Safety standards are adhered to and that Housekeeping standards are maintained in accordance with the Company s Quality manual.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting of material or components onto the machine either manually or using the lift equipment provided.

CNC Machinists must be able to stand for long periods of time and be adaptable to a changing environment. They must also be able to perform repetitive motions.

Co-ordinate duties across all functions during installation/commissioning and validation phases of allocated projects
Assist in the preparation of the Quality and Implementation Plans for all projects

As Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for the quality and reliability of an allocated group of externally sourced components and sub assemblies to ensure that products satisfy their supplier quality & reliability targets and customer expectations. Working with the Operations, Engineering and Purchasing teams, ensuring continuous improvement of supplier quality and reliability across key products, the role will be to champion the cause of supplier selection & development and initiate cross-functional communication to facilitate step changes in supplied quality.
Main Duties
MAIN DUTIES:
- Reporting to the Operations Quality Manager, the role involves interaction with personnel at all levels. It includes a large element of interaction with suppliers and analytical work.
- You will have accountability for the Quality aspect of supply of components from your allocated suppliers which in conjunction with Material control and Purchasing representatives should enable a seamless supply to the manufacturing facility. You will be required to travel to suppliers in the UK, Europe and occasionally Far East to audit and foster a good working relationship and to ensure they are working to agreed procedures and standards. You will report on your suppliers performance monitoring quality, cost and delivery and where appropriate you will initiate Quality plans / improvement programs.
- You will seek to understand issues causing disruption in the assembly facility and undertake actions with suppliers to ensure root cause closure. For critical components you will ensure that FMEA s and control plans exist at suppliers to minimise the chances of disruption or failure. Where necessary you will invoke Engineering changes to improve product design and component specifications and drawings.
- You will seek to reduce variation in the supplier s processes understanding their process performance where necessary using Process Capability studies.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ideally you will have a Degree or equivalent and three years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- You will be able to demonstrate your understanding and use of appropriate tools including six sigma, Lean Manufacturing methods, and process capability studies. Ideally you will have experience of auditing suppliers to ISO standards
- You will be a good communicator, able to influence at senior levels and exercising a high degree of tact and diplomacy as required.
- You will be flexible, a level thinker and capable of solving wide ranging quality problems using structured methods but showing a sense of urgency where manufacturing continuity demands it. A firm character and the ability to work as part of a team or alone as the situation demands are essential qualities.
- An understanding of basic reliability principles and design for manufacture methods would be an advantage.

As Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for carrying out repairs to the plant, services and buildings to an agreed planned maintenance schedule, also attending to breakdowns and emergencies when required. This position is working within a proactive, continuous improvement driven manufacturing environment.

The candidate:
Applicants need to be qualified Engineers, multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical practices, preferably with an electrical bias. Previous food manufacturing experience is desirable however not essential. Previous experience of working within a FMCG environment is essential. A self motivated, forward thinking working attitude is required with a 'can do' approach.
