The Role

The engineer will be responsible for all areas of a project including overlooking the design and communicating with key customers, before putting together a design based report.  Material specification will be a key part of this role with candidates needing to demostrate experience in a relevant industry.  This will detail the scope of the job and the detail out each element of the projects design and how it will interface with the clients machinery. Candidates will be required to write a number of reports to industry standard.

The Candidate

Ideal candidates will have a degree (Mechanical Engineering or similar) and be from a design background.  Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred bun not essential (nuclear, valves or pressure vessels also desirable).  The contractor will be responsible for all areas of a project so must have excellent written and verbal communication, experience dealing with customers and a good understanding of engineering calculation etc.

The role

The role

The electrical design engineer will have experience of AC power distribution along with fundamental knowledge of automation control system design and build.  experience in the specification of motor drives and their control is also highly desirable.

The main responsibilities will be the design of electrical systems and installations to new and current product development projects.  The development of requirements from new customers for bespoke equipment builds and to convert them to detailed concept, and production designs. You will be required to use a structured approach to achieve low cost, reliable and durable designs and be able to evaluate designs using recognised, best practice methodology tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understanding machinery requirements, and liaise as part of a design team to deliver the overall design concept for automated equipment

-Execute assignments, consisting of performing calculations, analysis, material and component selection. Plus ensuring the specification is met
-Responsible for quality conscious design including cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing
-Provide support for prototype and machinery builds

-Competently utilise various electrical engineering design tools, personal computers (PC) and (CAD) equipment, electrical design software either utilising Autocad or specific electrical software package
-Direct support of customers and suppliers to include travel to off-site locations, as necessary, to Support the business from an electrical prospective

Both roles are design roles working with the full range of instrumentation (pressure, temp, differential pressure transmitters), power, distribution and PLC’s which are being installed on live gas sites.

The right candidate will have experience of designing systems for installation in a hazardous area and must be familiar with methods of protection such as EX enclosures, IS circuits, barriers etc

There will also be acpect of a project engineering role including ordering materials and liaising with the production department who will manufacture the equipment and install it on site

Design Engineer

Candidate

This opportunity is ideal for a design engineer seeking a role that will offer a huge amount of variety within the design of large bespoke mechanical machinery. You will ideally be degree qualified within a mechanical discipline and have working experience with design calculations. You will also be experienced in using 3D design software. It is preferred that you have worked within large mechanical machinery design and that you understand that getting the job done and a hands on team working  environment is something that this company prides itself on.

Role

The role will involve you picking up the project and working closely with the design manager to ensure customer requirements and specifications have been met. The Design Manager will be responsible for a team of 5 design engineers in their development and advancement within the company.

The Role

You will be supporting them in putting together the right specification, allocating manpower and other resources, ultimately to ensure the project is delivered on time and to budget. You will be the first point of contact dealing with problems and taking the recognition for solving them –you will be part of the company and customers team.
