|
The role of SHEQ Business Partner provides holistic, practical and professional, leadership, support, training interventions and integrated SHEQ technical advice and information across all product lines within the specified region. In addition, the role holder will provide the SHEQ lead in one of three specified product lines across all geographical regions and support the associated product Director. Working in close partnership with the Assurance, Compliance and Sustainability Managers, this role holder integrates, develops, deploys and implements SHEQ systems, policies, procedures and controls aligned to the three products' business plans with the primary focus of preventing injury and ill-health. The role holder champions Zero Harm and, in conjunction with others, Sustainability and Quality activities within their region. The primary focus of this role is to partner all business functions and personnel to prevent work-related instances of chronic and acute ill-health, injury and loss, within a sustainable, healthy and safe working environment. The Business Partner will also lead, manage, coach, mentor and develop the Regional Safety Partner.
To acheive excellence in this role:
Create, deploy and implement innovative safety and health action plans, procedures, policies, communications, occupational health and safety risk management for their region and specified product line, ensuring a consistent approach to safety is maintained in line with Health and Safety policies and Zero Harm programme Ensure that system documents, information and instructions comply with legislation and statutory compliance as well as enhance the customer experience and delivering a high standard of service Attend regular meetings with primary product (e.g. Engineering, Soft Services), Unions and report on and monitor subsequent actions in regards to SHEQ Implement corrective and preventative actions to resolve matters arising from audit processes Liaise with 3rd party auditors and manage subsequent investigations concerning their primary product line, Government Agencies, Enforcement Bodies, Local Authorities Provide, in conjunction with company training requirements, comprehensive training to promote, develop and sustain a positive Health and Safety awareness culture Provide Health and Safety induction training for new employees Day to day line management of Regional Safety Partner, including coaching, development, performance management, PDRs etc Support achievement of injury reduction targets, reducing lost time and replacement costs with long term impact on insurance premiums Proactive prevention of work related health problems, e.g. dermatitis, HAVs, noise induced hearing loss and mental well-being Support Environmental and Quality objectives to deliver to cost reductions, ensure cost avoidance and improve the workplace and business function's performance Prevention of compliance failures avoiding cost through CPM deliver/CAN avoidance and avoidance of fines or prohibitions for customers/ourselves Produce and maintain monthly and annual reports covering all aspects of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality management for the area of responsibility Escalate awareness to Senior Management of situations which could lead to legal sanctions, loss of accreditation or prosecution by enforcing authorities Contribute to the mobilisation of new contracts in the assigned business area Carry out incident investigations to root cause using company procedures, issue reports and present findings Agree, monitor and review assurance and compliance standards on customer sites on a rolling programme Regularly communicate with business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors to maintain and improve compliance Technical knowledge, skills and experience required:
Educated to degree level, ideally in Engineering or in a subject appropriate to business activities Chartered Member of IOSH; membership of IEMA, CQI, IIRSM or similar organisation Significant Health and Safety Management experience, ideally gained within a multi-site, unionised, engineering organisation Experience of working within Hard and/or Soft Services within the Facilities Management industry is an advantage NVQ Level 4 qualification in Health and Safety, Environment or equivalent is essential Knowledge and understanding of SHE legislation and management systems Experience of implementing management system elements and legal compliance action plans Experience of and Trained Auditor in one or more of BS EN ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 management systems - Lead Auditor an advantage Proven and proficient experience in training delivery and 'train the trainer' skills; delivery of IOSH or BSC courses an advantage Excellent IT skills.
