My client, a leading food manufacturer, is looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join their highly successful team in Humberside. This role will require the successful candidate to lead the Technical quality teams across the site, in relation to customer account requirements and expectations and to provide proactive technical support across the business with a specific customer focus.

Key Responsibilities:
To liaise effectively with the Customer Technologist, being pro-active at all times building strong relationships through close communication, site visits and regular audits and seeking swift resolutions as required. Key Technical contact for all customer accounts assigned to the role.
Proactively develop food safety and quality systems including HACCP taking into account current legislation, BRC, customer standards
Control / oversee technical spending within allocated responsibilities.
Help to develop the site technical strategy to ensure that customer expectations are accurately reflected, included and implemented in the longer term.
Ensure rigorous legal, customer and third party compliance with all process and product controls with an adequate proportion of management time spent in the factory environment.
Liaison and co-ordinator for all new products (between customer, NPD, commercial, Specs & factory) ensuring that critical paths are achieved to timescales or potential delays effectively communicated to the customer.
Ensure continuous improvement actions for full compliance to all businesses' technical and customer accreditation standards with the highest results expected.
Manage, motivate and develop the team, through active leadership and empowerment, in order to enable progression; to resource growth; or to replace current roles (Succession Planning).
Creates and promotes an environment where individuals feel able to continually challenge the status quo, embrace change consistent with the company values and encouraged to make decisions in driving continuous improvement.
Monitors appropriate agreed KPI's as a basis for the development of performance improvement plans within the departments.

Training and Experience:

Commercial, NPD and operations awareness

Education and Qualifications:

Job Purpose

Act as a focal point and driver for third party chemical and hygiene service providers.
Operate a hygiene internal audit & review system.

Formulation and implementation of the site hygiene and functional strategy in line with the site plan.
Drive a set of agreed, tuned (SMART) key performance indicators for the hygiene team and site hygiene standards
Responsible for ensuring the Company Procedures and Policies are implemented and managed within the factory.
To manage, coach, communicate and develop their direct reports on a day to day basis and maintain a foresight plan
Ensure the Quality Management Systems relating to Hygiene are fully implemented and reviewed.
Ensure that the products that are manufactured are safe and meet relevant legal and customer requirements, by ensuring robust Hygiene practices.
Take responsibility for environmental microbiological standards and hygiene standards across the site and act as part of the site HACCP team.
Continually improve all site Hygiene systems and work with Group, Retailers and External Suppliers to improve all relevant KPIs for the site.
Operate as a key part of the Technical functional team and wider site management team.

Skills and Knowledge·
Recognised leadership ability, with management experience.
Clear understanding of the H&S requirements of the role
Ability to influence those not within direct control
Knowledge of Good Hygiene Practices and GMP and knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
