The Role

Person Specification

• Extensive sales experience in the UK automotive aftermarket industry is required within the Commercial Vehicle sector

• Able to demonstrate expertise in building good working relationships with major accounts, having excellent communication/ presentation skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels

• Good knowledge of Buying Groups and major IAM customers in the South/Southwest region.

• Financially astute, commercially aware with the ability to negotiate supply contracts

• An in-depth knowledge of the companies product range of Commercial Vehicle components.

• Ability to sell product features and benefits, not simply on price

• Strong technically, ideally having experience within a technical position at some point.

• Computer literacy essential (i.e. word, excel, power-point) familiarity with SAP would be an advantage

• Logical/ methodical approach to sales and marketing with attention to detail and the ability to think laterally

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels

• Ability to work on own initiative with a flexible approach to work

• Ability to work under pressure to achieve targets and deadline

• A strong mix of Sales/ Marketing/ Product Management experience, preferred

The Role Brief

The Role

As an OEM Engineer you will provide effective engineering and commercial support, working with design and development engineers within vehicle and engine manufacturers. A working knowledge of sensor electrical characteristics or the ability to understand them following inhouse product training is paramount.

Ideal though not essential would be a knowledge of engines and exhaust after treatment technology, also useful would be an understanding of software and hardware structures required to support sensor application engineering.

Our client manufacturers brand leading products within the vehicle combustion and engine management systems sector. With excellent research & development facilities, a quality product and first-rate technical support they have increased their OEM business and are currently looking for an additional Technical Sales Engineer to join their successful OE engineering team.

The Role

As an OEM Engineer you will provide effective engineering and commercial support, working with design and development engineers within vehicle and engine manufacturers. Knowledge of vehicle electronics, engine management systems and automotive manufacturing disciplines within both a technical and commercial environment will be essential. Additionally you will be involved with identifying new business opportunities and establishing both pricing and forward strategy. Equally you will be responsible for quality documentation and liaising with overseas personnel and internal divisions alike.

The role is primarily office based however the post will also require travelling to customers, both within the UK and abroad. There will be a requirement for occasional evening work and overnight stays.

The Candidate

You will possess good knowledge of the automotive manufacturing industry and a background with an engineering bias. You will need excellent presentation skills, solid commercial acumen, good administrative and IT skills (MS Office) combined with high levels of drive and enthusiasm.

Experience of working within a manufacturing environment encompassing vehicle components or vehicle electronics / wiring systems will be of distinct interest, as will knowledge of working with vehicle manufacturers’ quality teams.

Our ideal candidate will hold a degree qualification in an engineering or related subject and will also have academic knowledge of electrical/electronic systems. A working knowledge of sensor electrical characteristics or the ability to understand them following inhouse product training is paramount.

Ideal though not essential would be a knowledge of engines and exhaust after treatment technology, also useful would be an understanding of software and hardware structures required to support sensor application engineering.

An Area Sales Manager / Field Sales Representative is required for a major automotive aftermarket manufacturer within the Manchester - North West territory.

£30-35K Basic + Bonus + Car + BUPA + Pension & Life Insurance + Generous Holiday Entitlement

As global leading manufacturers within the automotive aftermarket industry our client offers a comprehensive portfolio of OE quality products. Supported by an excellent field sales team, product advice, and comprehensive training our clients offer their customers unrivalled quality and service.

To promote sales within automotive aftermarket distribution they require a Sales Manager to support their North West Territory.

The Role

The main role requirement is to improve sales growth – by supporting and motivating customers, providing training, workouts and marketing support. In addition to improving organic sales growth you will also identify and develop new business opportunities.

Regular reporting and competitor analysis is required to enable updated marketing, pricing and strategic activity. You will also be required to execute corporate programmes and plan and report accurately and regularly.

You will have an awareness of competitor activity within wholesale, motor factors and installer garages and will make calls alongside distributor salesmen to assist in selling the companies products and programmes.

The Candidate

You must be able to plan and organise your work schedule. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to interact effectively with customers/distributors/colleagues.

Relevant experience within the Automotive replacement business is a pre-requisite, ideally having worked within a distributor environment.

Good IT skills specifically Microsoft Office is required.
