We are currently seeking to recruit a Principal or a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer with the ability to develop into a Principal role to join our client's North East office on a staff basis.
A staff appointment to work on Front End and Detailed Design projects in the Chemical, Nuclear, Power Generation and Oil & Gas Industry. The successful candidate will be a key player in the civil structural team and be Lead Engineer on projects.
Preferably a chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with the ability to liaise directly with other disciplines and be capable of leading and managing a civil structural team of engineers and designers.
The lead engineer will be required to participate in the training of engineers and apprentices, and will be required to travel to fulfil some of the duties.
Requirements:
Experienced chartered civil/structural engineer. Proven track record of large refinery projects and FEED work. Excellent technical, expertise communication and co-ordination skills.
Structural background preferred.
A chartered engineer (or working towards status) and a member of appropriate institute
Preferably degree qualified with EPC project experience in a senior engineering role.
Based Teesside office, with some occasional travel to be expected to perform site inspections, client meeting etc.
A background in Chemical, Petro Chemical, Power and Nuclear industries.

Acting as an agency on behalf on my client I am seeking a Project Manager (Electrical) to be based in the East of England on an ongoing contract role.
This project is a new build and therefore candidates will be expected to provide a hands-on project management role supporting the Workstream Manager in delivering site based work from assignment to close out.
Candidates must have previously undertaken a Project Managers role and ideally be chartered.
Desired experience *Strong understanding of the need for Quality within the project environment. *Intent and appropriate application of Quality Assurance process and activities. *High integrity/safety critical sectors such as nuclear, power generation, petrochemicals or oil & gas. *Degree in an engineering discipline. Chartered status.
Essential experience: *Well versed in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. *A commitment to safety with awareness of current legislation e.g. CDM Regs and HSW Act. *Knowledge and application/use of project controls tools (e.g. schedules/programmes). *Understanding the needs of quality and promotion thereof. *Multi-discipline project experience of leading an integrated project team (involving client/contractor/ vendors). *Contract management and reporting. *Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct meetings/reviews with client functions/ contractor personnel together with facilitation of problem resolution. *Risk management tools, risk assessments and method statements. *Development of project level PM/QA documentation. *Review of designer and contractor submittals. *Planning and co-ordination of site work.

Our client is a nuclear specialist who undertake projects across this discipline. They require a Project Planner (both on a temporary contract and permanent basis) to organise these projects, based on their Warrington site.
The Planner will be responsible for setting out, monitoring, maintaining and updating the project plan/programme in coordination with all stakeholders of the project. The Planner will need to provide information to the Project Management and Design Management teams on project progress to both critical path and project milestones. The Planner will be expected to work closely with the Project Services team in monitoring programme KPI's e.g. Earned Value.
Duties: *Draft programmes in conjunction with the Project Manager *Discuss & agree resources and timescales with the Project Manager *Ensure all activities within the scope of work are included in programmes *Issue programmes of work in accordance with Document Control system *Gather information from design team, subcontractors, client for progress reporting purposes *Responsible for updating the project plan throughout the project lifetime *Maintain cause and effect records in liaison with the Project Manager *Regularly assist, advise and update the project resource plan *Assist in progress reporting against the programme *Pursue sub-contractors programmes & ensure alignment with those of the project.
Required Qualifications: *Minimum HND or equivalent level of qualification is required *Preferably degree qualified in technical/engineering or project management discipline though not essential *PC literate in Microsoft Office suite *Knowledge of using Project Planning software (Primavera) is required. Knowledge of P3e or P6 will be a distinct advantage but this is not essential
Required Experience: *Demonstrable competence gained in a planning/scheduling role *Ideally experience will have been gained within a construction industry incorporating at least either civil, electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines *Experience of working within a project delivery environment is essential *Full knowledge of the Project Lifecycle is absolutely essential
