You will be working closely with my client's Contract Management Services team, the preparation, negotiation and agreement of substantial contracts for railway signalling system opportunities, through pro-active participation in organised bid teams

Key Duties

*Primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating contract changes, ad hoc agreements, claims and variations, as well as monthly applications for payment and final accounts, processing of letters of credit, export credit guarantees and the like, in conjunction with the client's project management teams.
*The provision of support and advice to the client's project management teams on matters such as contract compliance, contract awareness, contact change management, claims, variations and legal and financial matters, liaising where necessary with other specialist
*Ensuring that contractual commitments to Customers are backed off to Suppliers, thereby minimizing the risk to manage the delivery of those contracts in conjunction with the project management teams.
*To work closely with the project management teams, ensuring that the client's commercial position is maximized through effective use of the contract provisions, whilst ensuring that the Customer continues to receive a "feel good" value for money service.
*To liaise closely with other Commercial Managers, ensuring the consistent use of best practice contract and commercial techniques.
*To develop long-term proactive relationships with project managers and project teams to ensure the continued delivery of a professional contract and commercial management service offering.

Essential Requirements

*Degree qualified or qualified member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent.
*Strong track record in a high value post contract management environment and position, ideally gained in a similar or related industry e.g. rail, defence, construction, IT etc.
*Multi-disciplined so as to be able to understand the technical, contractual and financial requirements of the commercial management role and the necessary close liaison between them.

This contract will run for a minimum of 12 weeks initially and for your efforts and for your services you will be rewarded with a competitive rate of pay and a stable workload in the current economic climate.
