Our client is looking to recruit a Lead Category Manager responsible for ICT / IT. They are looking for an IT Category Manager to lead all procurement in hardware, software, IT solutions and services and telco both fixed and mobile. The are looking for a Senior Buyer / Category Manager who has experience in setting and delivering a Category Management Strategy plan for ICT / IT. Ideally the successful Category Manager will be able to show a track record in IT procurement demonstrating hard savings, cost and risk avoidance plus excellent commercial awareness.
The IT Category Manager is joining this £1Billion+ organisation just as they undertake a procurement transformation so forward career growth is assured and also the ability to take full control of a significant ICT spend.

As a Category Manager / Senior Buyer IT / ICT, you will be responsible for leading and driving the procurement direction and activity for the IT and Energy category. This will be achieved through developing and delivering best-in-class procurement practices and services and contractual arrangements.
The Category Manager / Senior Buyer IT / ICT will identify and manage key stakeholders, such as business units, internal colleagues and suppliers, in order to deliver an optimal supply chain. The Category Manager / Senior Buyer IT / ICT will aim to maintain the commercial balance between cost reduction, quality or provision and the security of the supply within the IT and Energy category.
To be considered for this opportunity, the successful Category Manager / Senior Buyer IT / ICTmust have:
Experience of leading the strategic procurement of complex categories, including IT and Energy, at a senior level
A proven track record of working on procurement transformation projects and working at a strategic procurement level
An MCIPS qualification or an appropriate technical or business degree
Very strong stakeholder engagement and the experience of working across a group structure
Experience in large scale multi-million pound contracts overall spend in this category is over £50m
Commercially astute and adaptable
As a Category Manager / Senior Buyer IT / ICT, you will have excellent analytical, organisational, prioritisation and planning skills. You must also have strong management capabilities with the ability to inspire confidence throughout the organisation.

This very successful company looking for an Operations Manager to lead their service centre in Crewe. Undertaking specialist repairs refurbishments and limited manufacturing the operation is highly focused on generating high quality in M&E engineering applications. This is a key appointment as the Operations Manager will control and drive the entire operation.
The Operations Manager will be expected to cover the following:
Manage the Maintenance department and process, ensuring all repairs are carried out in a timely manner & with a focus on the highest level of customer service at all times, fulfilling orders effectively & efficiently.
Delegating workloads to the individual engineering cells, prioritising jobs in a business sensitive manner, ensuring work is carried out to the highest possible standard.
Strong communication with work colleagues - Liaising and working very closely with various departments and other sites.
Strict time management ensuring all deadlines are adhered to and all repair work fulfilled in the correct time.
Project management & Planning of processes /suitable working practices particularly in LEAN and Six Sigma.
Leading the team via strong man management & professional communication
Mentoring & developing the Engineers identifying training needs.
Hands on approach - leading the team & motivating the team by leading from the front.
Taking an active lead in the employee engagement programme
Ideal Operations Manager will have the following attributes:
High level of engineering knowledge (HND or equivalent) - in mechanical electrical engineering
Strong man manager with a persuasive nature
Professional communicator - at all levels both internally and with clients
Strong time manager who can prioritise workloads effectively
Understanding of LEAN Management / processes or/and Six Sigma
