Project Delivery (Car Safety Systems)
This Contract offers the opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer, ideally with automotive experience, to work on the delivery of vehicle safety systems.
Our client, a leading automotive OEM, requires an experienced engineer, probably mechanical biased, who has experience of component development and delivery. The Project Engineer will support component design and integration and have experience of delivery of a project on time and to budget. As such they will have excellent communication skills, be IT literate and capable of managing large amounts of data, typically within a Spread Sheet based format. Internal process tool development will be offered.
Cad literacy would be an advantage, but only for data interrogation purposes. No actual Cad design work will be required.
The Project engineer will be provided with training and support as required in the area of vehicle safety systems, typically airbags, knee bolsters, retraints, steering wheels and so on.
An experienced Project Engineer with automotive Body Engineering experience would be an alternative after Safety Systems knowledge, followed by any automotive Project Engineering experience and coupled with knowledge of engineering quality tools such as FMEA, 6Sigma or 8D problem resolution.
Experience of Project Delivery within another area of transportation such as aviation or rail will also be considered if other criteria is achieved by an applicant.
These Project Engineer roles are not suited to a recent Graduate engineer or one with limited industry work experience. Applicants must also hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle as off-site travel within the Midlands will be required on occasions.
