Maintenance Technician
CDS Recruitment Ltd have a requirement for a permanent Maintenance Technician to join the engineering team.
Our client is a international pharmaceutical company, who are committed to being fast, flexible, innovative and reliable. Qualities which are helping to make them one of the world’s leading contract developers and manufacturers of pharmaceuticals.
The position requires a suitable skilled technician with Chemical or Pharmaceutical engineering back ground.
The Role requires someone with ;
Recognised trade apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 in trade skill or equivalent qualification
Able to undertake risk assessments on a variety of plant and equipment
Fully conversant with site safety rules and emergency procedures
Full knowledge of plant maintenance systems and production systems and standards
Relevant experience working on chemical process equipment and maintenance
Able to complete all appropriate tasks unsupervised
Able to train others in core trade skills.
Some IT skills.
Effective written and verbal communicator
Health, Safety and Environment
• Ensure that all engineering tasks are performed safely by employing risk/manual handling and COSHH assessments.
• Ensure that incidents and near misses are reported promptly to the appropriate external/internal departments.
• Ensure that caution sheets and safety data sheets are used when dealing with chemicals.
• Use the stated procedures for carrying out all tasks.
Operations
• Operate as part of the process team to meet targets in all relevant areas of activity, and to ensure that products are produced in accordance with the agreed production/business plan.
• Maintain the efficiency of all processes by minimising downtime due to breakdowns: initiate and implement remedial action where required.
• Participate in a continuous improvement environment in all areas of process team operations. Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in the engineering aspects of process operations.
Quality
• Carry out all engineering activities in accordance with full cGMP requirements and other appropriate quality standards.
• Highlight any potential quality issues to relevant personnel.
• Participate in a culture of continual improvement in the standards of quality.
• Ensure all engineering activities are compliant with quality requirements. Implement corrective action as necessary.
Training
• Identify any training needs to enable the role to be performed at the required standard.
• Ensure full attendance to internal training schedules.
• Ensure that training is obtained before any new operation is carried out.
• Ensure that all training records are up to date.
• Carry out training of identified staff in basic engineering skills.

CDS Recruitment require a Senior HR Person for a successful engineering company.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR professional to join our clients established HR department which provides a centralised HR service to a group of companies employing c1000 employees. The role will initially focus on providing the lead in the implementation of the final stages of our new Sage/Snowdrop integrated HR system, after which it will provide a senior generalist service to the group.
Specific responsibilies will include:
•Overseeing completion of our HR system project including
implementation of a self-service facility for managers and employees.
•Developing the application and use of the HR System.
•Supporting the provision of an effective advisory and consultative HR service across the full range of HR/employee issues including employee relations, resourcing and recruitment, reward & salary administration, provision of management information and reporting, maintaining and reviewing company policies, terms and conditions
•Ensuring that the delivery of the HR service is comprehensive, pro-active and accessible to all levels of management and employees.
Candidates should be of graduate calibre, CIPD qualified and have gained their HR experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of, and an interest in implementing and developing HR systems will be essential together with strong IT skills and the ability to manage your own workload. Candidates should also demonstrate extensive knowledge of UK employment legislation and experience managing a variety of employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, and performance management. You must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to operate and influence at a senior level.

They are now looking to recruit a Design Engineer for the Design Engineering Department.
Main activities will include developing design solutions based on technical and commercial specifications for new and existing products and applications. Generating design and manufacturing data, working with a range of internal departments to ensure design solutions and specifications are delivered.
