The Role:
Construct, develop, manage and maintain Test & Validation programmes for new vehicles.
Liaise with all functional areas in order to capture whole vehicle requirements and optimise plans
Determination of relevant development and validation tests required through out programme.
Construct budget, monitor spend and raise PCN transfer as required.
Determine test vehicle specifications and support BOM development.
Liaise with other functions with regards to development and specification of rig test activities.
Update and develop test standards and procedures where required
Organise transportation/shipping of test vehicles and components - Record arrival and register/licence prototype vehicles.
Raise RFQ’s as necessary to suppliers for conducting data collection and test activity.
Manage, supervise and support suppliers conducting durability and functional tests and RLD collection.
Identify test issues, raise TIR (Test Incident Reports) conduct problem analysis, support problem resolution and monitor closure.
Conduct high value relevant test activities including coast down, pass by and climatic tests including planning and preparation.
Organise and support ride and drive and PAP events.
Conduct vehicle attribute benchmarking events, plan and organise tear down activity.
To be achieved via:
Use of appropriate project management tools.
Weekly communication with T and V china.
The Person:
Good Broad knowledge of all Vehicle Systems and components with an understanding of Vehicle Integration.
Expert knowledge of all aspects of vehicle structural, functional & specific tests.
Able to communicate effectively with all levels of vehicle engineering team.
Creative and able to offer ideas and solutions freely.
Flexible, committed and motivated to work on more than one activity and manage more than one vehicle programme a time.
Willing to work abroad.
