DescriptionRegister your CV My client is currently looking for an Electronic Engineer to contribute to the construction, installation, and maintenance of their physical modelling instrumentation and control systems.

These systems accurately simulate wave and current loadings on scaled models of vessels and structures, and then precisely measure and acquire data to quantify the impact on the models. Their equipment is used in-house, and by institutions and laboratories around the world.

As an Electronic Engineer in the Instrumentation and Control team you will help to deliver small and large scale projects from inception to handover. This will require a strong understanding of analogue and digital electronics, together with a willingness to apply practical skills in fault finding, production wiring and equipment calibration. You will also need to develop and apply a firm knowledge of the EtherCAT technology that underpins the control systems.

You will have a degree in a relevant subject and must be proactive, well organised, with excellent time management skills and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a busy team. Experience in the use of engineering drawing tools would be an advantage.

Overview of the Role

The key requirement of this role will be to work alongside the Lead Analyst and liaise with the Merchandising Process Development Manager to:
*Asses each requirement and make recommendations on the most efficient and effective way in which Excel could draw data from other core systems to meet the business requirement.
*Build, test and deliver such reports within agreed estimates and timelines.

Skills Required

Your role will be to provide support to the IT Service Desk, acting as the initial point of functional escalation for the Service Desk Agents, ensuring that all escalated incidents, requests and queries are successfully resolved within the agreed time frames and in a customer centric and cost effective manner. This role will also assist in delivering project based work packages on an ad-hoc basis, where that activity does not interfere in the primary objective of resolving customer requests and issues.

Your specific duties will include but are not limited to;

·Receive functional escalations from the Service Desk Agents, ensuring that the escalation is successfully resolved within the agreed time frame, or ensure it is passed to someone who can resolve it in a timely manner. This may entail logging, tracking and managing tickets with 3rd party support partners.
·When necessary, assist the Service Desk Agents in answering calls from Customers in a polite and calm manner, adhering to the agreed KPIs
·Own the successful restoration of service when Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents occur, utilising the agreed upon Incident Management process and communications framework to ensure Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents are managed within the agreed time frames.
·Keep Customers informed on the status and progress of their request, where that ticket is owned by you.
·Highlight Service Desk training and education needs, proactively sharing knowledge to improve the capability of the Service Desk agents.

Suitable candidates will have previous experience of working in a 2nd Line support or Helpdesk environment and of working within a defined KPI structure. You must have a technical understanding of the following: Active Directory - Detailed Knowledge, MS Windows environments and MS Office applications: Desktop & Laptop - Detailed Knowledge, Server - Basic Knowledge, Networks - Basic Knowledge, Citrix - basic troubleshooting skills.
