This £10 mill turnover Professional Business Consultancy is looking to recruit an experienced Billing Manager to work with the busy finance team.
This is a stand alone role where you will be assisting the Finance Director and the Finance Manager to provide an efficient finance service to the business. You will have day to day responsibility for managing the transactional processing – invoicing and credit control, ensuring controls, processes and systems are working efficiently and effectively and that information needs within the business are met.
Other key aspects of the role include ensuring that data on the time recording and invoicing system is maintained, clean and accurate; proactively encouraging the completion of timesheets and chasing disbursements; managing the sales ledger; dealing with write offs and provisions; posting required entries to general ledger to reflect revenue and reconcile revenue accounts with management accounts; and providing training and support for staff and directors on billing and the time-recording/invoicing system.
The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the revenue generation and invoicing process, and be proficient in maintenance of WIP. It is essential that you have worked in a similar role managing the time recording, invoicing and credit control finance processes ideally some of which obtained in a professional services organisation. It would also be highly beneficial if you had some experience of preparation of management accounts.
We are ideally looking for someone who is AAT qualified or part qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent or who is willing to study.
This role requires a commercially minded individual with a proactive attitude. Strong IT skills – advanced Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft software (Outlook, Word), as well as experience of using time recording/invoicing systems and accounting (SAGE) are essential. Knowledge of Epicor would be advantageous.

This leading Financial Services company based in the city is looking for a Financial Accountant to take on key responsibility for the accurate and timely financial accounting and control for the Group Parent and associated companies. This includes periodic reporting to the management and shareholders of the Group in accordance with all relevant local and Group management and statutory reporting requirements.
Key aspects of the role include accounting for investment result entries, monthly reporting including analytical review and commentary and producing the financial accounting pack on a quarterly basis.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the audit relationships, the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and audit file and the preparation of forecast and budget data as well as the co-ordination of the Monthly Accounts Pack, including preparation of intercompany and other balance sheet reconciliations.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience in an Investment Management environment for regulated entities and have hands on experience of preparing FSA returns.
You must be a Qualified accountant (ACA) with good technical accounting knowledge alongside commercial awareness and the ability to work under pressure and with good attention to detail.
The role requires an adept communicator who is comfortable with communicating and influencing at all levels and who is naturally able to multi task and prioritise where necessary.
We are looking for a high level of proficiency in core software packages including Excel preferably to an advanced level as well as accounting packages used in Financial Services.

This well established professional services firm is seeking a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) to join as Financial Controller. Working alongside the Finance Director you will have day to day responsibility for managing the transactional processing finance functions including purchase ledger, expenses, sales ledger and banking. We are looking for a minimum of 2/3 years post qualified experience in a similar role managing finance processes as well as experience of preparation of management and annual accounts, ideally gained in a professional services environment. Strong financial accounting skills as well as sound knowledge of UK practice and legislation are key requirements as well as a clear understanding of the revenue generation and invoicing process.
This role requires a good man manager as there are 3 direct reports. It is a hands on role that requires the individual to be robust, confident, adept at building relationships and not be afraid to get their hands dirty!
