With ever increasing investment into their UK sites they are now looking for two Mechanical Technical Engineers to work double days Monday to Friday for their mechanical engineering workshop to strengthen their Engineering and Maintenance team.
Within the role of Mechanical Technical Engineer you with be responsible for the overhaul of food processing equipment, maintenance of site equipment in accordance with health and safety (H&S), quality and food hygiene standards, support the manufacturing maintenance team and provide quick and effective reactive breakdown maintenance of all food processing equipment and other site equipment too. You will be also be involved in various projects on site and the fabrication of parts and equipment for the workshop to support the engineering function with good bench fitting and welding skills an advantage. You will also be involved with working with Senior Engineers, Maintenance Planners and Shift Managers to help run the engineering department efficiently, look at ways the maintenance equipment, processes and the workshop can be carried out more efficiently and work on continuous improvements projects for the site.
The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Technical Engineers role will have completed an apprenticeship, be time served or equivalent and hold some form of qualification in mechanical engineering or technical discipline. You will also have experience working as a mechanical engineer or technician within a faced paced manufacturing or production environment or mechanical workshop ideally although other backgrounds can be considered with the right skills. Experience working in a mechanical workshop, fabrication, tool and parts making, bench fitting and welding will all be advantageous. You will also have experience working to targets, be a good problem solver, have good prioritising skills and be a good team player and communicator.
The package for the Mechanical Technical Engineers role is paying £34k for double days Monday to Friday so no nights or weekends, plus overtime, pension and package and will be working on a 2 year fixed contract with a world class manufacturing facility which can offer great opportunities for the future within the group. They are looking for individuals with a logical approach to breakdown analysis (fault finding / problem solving), pro-active maintenance and improvement work, who can demonstrate a sense of urgency whilst never compromising safety or product quality. You must be able to prioritise, through consultation with line management, the order of your own workload in a way that reflects the team's needs. With previous experience within an engineering role you will have a proven history of fault finding, rectification and experience of maintenance techniques. You will have to liaise with internal technical contacts, outside suppliers and specialists where necessary to meet group and individual objectives.
