Generally a peripatetic manager would work for a few weeks at a time at a particular care home. (monday - froday generally) It may be covering for sick leave or awaiting the appoitment of a new manager.

The Peripatetic Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of a registered care home and who has overall responsibility for the running of the home and meeting it’s statement of purpose in the absence of a permanent Manager. The Peripatetic Manager must be qualified, competent and experienced to run the home and meet its stated purpose, aims and objectives.

The Peripatetic Manager is also responsible for demonstrating strong positive ideas about professional practice and right of the individuals (particularly privacy, independence and choice) and adhering to National Minimum Standards, and all relevant legislative requirements.

1. Evidence of at least 2 years senior management experience within a relevant care setting within the past 5 years

Is a first level registered nurse and has a relevant management qualification

3. Possession of the ENB 998 or 730 Courses (Teaching Certificates) Mentorship Course, would be useful when the Registered Person is required to provide teaching programmes for staff.
