The candidate would join our team of production technicians on a rotating shift pattern (currently 12 hour shifts, 7 days per week) on a 3, 2, 2 pattern(3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) and will have sole responsibility for the engineering support of all production equipment on the shift. Ideally a time served electro-mech but with a bias on the mechanical engineering side, the engineer will possess a reasonable knowledge of PLC electrical control systems. The role involves the trouble-shooting, maintenance and setting of high speed production equipment, to including pneumatic controls and circuitry, mechanical operations and would align with anyone who has experience in the packaging industry. Most of the machines are unique in their design so specific training will be given but a knowledge of bag making equipment (VFFS), multi-head weigh systems, Marden Edwards over-wrappers or other similar equipment would be an advantage. Working as part of a production team the candidate may be expected to assist with some elements of packing products or possibly run part of the machine complex. This is a role for an open minded engineer who enjoys working in a production focused environment. Whilst there may be some overtime (holiday or sickness cover) it is not anticipated that this would be a regular aspect of the position.
