Rockwool are the world's leading supplier and manufacturer of energy efficient, sustainable and innovative stone wool insulation solutions. We are now looking for an Environmental Technician to join our Environment, Quality and Process department based at our leading manufacturing facility in Bridgend, Glamorgan.
Role: Environmental Technician
Location: Bridgend, Glamorgan, South Wales
Salary: Up to £22,000 DOE plus £2,091 shift responsibility allowance
Hours: 36.5 hours a week (Includes 4 hours on a Sunday morning)
This is an ideal role for someone who is hands on, well organised, methodical and analytically minded and looking for a challenging role.
As Environmental Technician you will be accountable for measuring, monitoring and analysing data to ensure that we continue to comply with and exceed with our challenging environmental standards.
You will be tasked with the following:
- Internal auditing, preparation of work instructions and delivering training under the requirements of the Environmental Management System (IOS 14001)
- Monitoring, sampling and analysis of emission to air and water, wastes and internal environment measurements
- Maintenance and calibration of monitoring and test equipment
- Statistical analysis and reporting of results to the EQP manager.
- Arranging biological, noise and odour surveys and any other measurement of environmental impact
- Monitor and report energy usage.
To be considered for this position you must have a scientific / quality / environmental employment background and up to date knowledge of current developments and practice across these areas. You will be self motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about driving improvements and raising standards relating to the environment.
The ideal Environmental Technician will be degree educated or HNC level in Science or an Engineering discipline with a good understanding of Mathematics and Science subjects at A-Level standard. Additionally you will have implemented or have good knowledge of an Environmental or Quality Management System.
You could have experience as an environmental officer, assistant environmental technician, quality technician, process engineer, environmental science, environmental services technician preferably with an understanding of manufacturing and / or waste management.
You will be required to work 36.5 hours a week 5 days over 7 which includes 4 hours on a Sunday morning to sample water quality. A £2,091 shift allowance will be provided on top of your basic salary.
Based at our manufacturing facility in Bridgend, Glamorgan - this role is commutable from Pencoed, Cowbridge, Porthcawl, Llantrisant, Pontyclun, Port Talbot, Maesteg, Llantwit Major, Neath and Swansea.

As Vendor Scheduler / Call Off Planner you will be joining a very knowledgeable and highly skilled team which will create the perfect platform for someone who may have or may be working towards a supply chain / purchasing qualification.
Rockwool are the world's leading supplier of energy efficient, sustainable and innovative stone wool insulation solutions. As Vendor Scheduler / Call Off Planner you will ensure that goods and materials are available in the correct quantity, quality and specification and are delivered on time in accordance with established supplier agreements.
Your duties will include:
- Ensuring accurate stock control of all incoming goods / materials.
- Maintain an adequate stock of materials to allow the factory to operate.
- Working in conjunction with the QA department to ensure that all goods and services delivered to Rockwool are within the required specification.
- Maintain key database records necessary for the efficient running of the supplies department e.g. prices and lead times.
- Process orders for all goods and services ensuring that the Rockwool authorisation procedure is adhered to.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must have:
- Experience within supply chain or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills to enable you to effectively communicate with the supplies team and other internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers.
- Working knowledge and understanding of SAP is a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must.

Working Monday - Thursday (9am - 5pm) and Friday (9am - 4pm), this is a full time position with an immediate start. Basic salary £20,500 DOE + excellent benefits.
