Job Description - An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the operation team in a new Operational Command Centre. The main function of the OCC is to ensure that the best and most efficient services is delivered to all Clients, the Operations Controller role will be the central point of contact for both clients and staff undertaking works with or for the client. The operations controllers will undertake the real time management of the clients response to request for work and then ensure that the request is actioned and completed within the contractual SLA requirements.
Working to established processes the control will provide information and performance details to both the senior management team and the client, To facilitate the delivery of this service the Operations Controller will operate state of the art computer systems to record information and manage operations. The operations controllers will interface with client staff and client representatives and/or the police and members of the public when appropriate.
As a key role in the day-to-day operations across the client businesses, the operations controllers will need to work well under pressure and be able to communicate at all levels.
Role Purpose: To effectively capture, monitor and control all works request and activities in real time. Ensuring that all TREK Clients receive a first class service and that all work is carried out in accordance with ALL current TREK operational processes.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
Working Knowledge of Highway Maintenance activities (Preferable).
Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, either face to face or by telephone. Demonstrate the ability to respond positively to the needs of customers.
5 years supervisory or management experience (preferable)
Demonstrate ability to meet performance targets both personal and departmental.
Experience of working in a real time environment (essential).
Experience of multiple stakeholder liaisons across complex work sites, via telephone or direct contact.
1st line direct supervision of staff and contractors
Experience of working alone, on own initiative, under pressure and working shifts which would include unsociable hours.
Experience of working in a methodical and detailed manner with understanding of reasons for clear recording of information.

Working Hours:
The OCC will operate 24/7/365 operating a continuous shift pattern over a rolling 4 week roster. The Operations controller will also be required to provide additional support in the event of emergencies and major incidents outside of the normal work pattern.
These are newly created positions, which will inevitably evolve. The successful candidates will enjoy the challenge of developing the role.
Key performance deliverables from OCC staff:
The Operations controllers will have clear delivery, efficiency and financial improvement targets set around the key activities listed above. The successful candidates will have to show that they have achieved / exceeded the performance and delivery targets set.
