Clarify what is required from the customer, produce the design documents (e.g. I/O Schedule, FDS, Test Schedules), programme the PLC, configure the SCADA, test and commission. On larger projects you will work with one or more of your team mates to deliver the project.
As a Project Manager you will lead a small team of engineers to deliver PLC and SCADA projects. Your role is to help your engineers excel and deliver a 10 out of 10 service to your team's customers. Key to this is:
Support and help your engineers.
Build fantastic relationships with your customers.
Communicate and coordinate.
Manage the contract and minimise risks.
Help your engineers to develop and grow.
To be successful as a Project Manager you will need a good understanding of PLC and SCADA systems and will probably have had hands on experience of programming these.

Connect 4 Recruitment are working in partnership with a leading automotive organisation to appoint a Project Manager who is a team player with great communication who has a keen eye for detail.
The Project Manager will be accountable for the overall project management of multi projects involving cross functional teams responsible for the development and industrialisation of common rail pumps.
The Project Manager’s responsibilities include:
• Overall responsibility to deliver flawless project launches to meet the committed objectives and launch metrics
• Ownership of the projects from kick off to product launch in the plant, using the company’s process to assure the project meets both customer & business objectives for cost, quality, delivery & performance.
• Develop project plans (project scope, timelines, cost, resources, risk, quality, communications and procurement) then lead and deploy overall project timing to the team
• Coordinate the cross functional teams to develop & implement plans to fit within timelines & key dates
• Conduct regular project team meetings and ensure teams are accountable for their deliverables & timelines, and manage risk escalation and resolution
• Support Customer meetings and support all functional discussions at customer
• Manage and track all prototype phases A,B,C up to and including ppap, followed by ramp up tracking
• Create and update BEN reporting - Identify, analyse, resolve and/or escalate risks in a timely manner in line with European escalation process
• Support divisional initiative for tracking flawless launch of all new product programs
• Be positive, encourage, coach & share knowledge with all Common Rail pump cross functional teams
• Communicate effectively, develop & conduct regular presentations to customers and management on pump projects
• Prepare minutes/action plans following meetings to ensure all parties are appraised of progress at all times
• Travel will be required to ensure customer meetings are supported and key deliverables/launches at the plant are prepared for.

The successful Applications Engineer must have the ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for the application and development of rotary FIE specifications from initial samples right through to production release. The successful Applications Engineer must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of diesel engine performance, combined with a practical aptitude to cope with the “hands on” aspects of this job. Primary activities will include the preparation of sample FIE, and close liaison with customers. This may require short term residency which will include those in China.
The Applications Engineer must have the ability to analyse pump and engine performance results, and to interpret customer requirements into FIE solutions. Some training will be provided to the successful candidate.
The Applications Engineer will:
• Organise the procurement, testing and supply of sample FIE that meets the customers’ performance targets and project timing requirements.
• Liaise with customers providing support to the development programmes, and give training on the company’s rotary FIE systems, therefore must be a good communicator.
• Assist with performance and production quality troubleshooting, engage with the customer and manufacturing to devise and carry out test work on rig, engine or vehicles as required.
• Analyse test results, write reports and make presentations to both company and customer audiences.
• Release Calibration specs and BOM’s on the company’s Global Engineering System.

The Manufacturing Engineer Program Leader will take responsibility for the planning and coordination of the Pump Manufacturing Engineering Phase to ensure that each program launch meets the key target dates with all the Manufacturing Engineer’s key deliverables completed correctly.
The Manufacturing Engineer Program Leader will:
• Collect the information from within Product Engineering and Project Management for any new Customer Programs, build a specification package, set a plan with Manufacturing Engineering Leaders to ensure Process readiness in due time to match customer milestone.
• Set up regular meetings with the Manufacturing Engineer Leaders to review progress and to issue a regular report.
• Prepare Drawing and Model packages as requested by Manufacturing Engineer Leaders to provide to suppliers.
• Follow all Manufacturing Engineer Prototype and Sample Requirements to carry out the necessary trails and Machine Qualifications.
• Co-ordinate with the Manufacturing Engineer Advanced Quality Engineerss to ensure the correct level of documentation are completed.
• Co-ordinate with the Manufacturing Engineer AQEs to ensure Machine Qualifications are completed and approved.
• Track all new machine installations linked to overall capacity increase, to ensure timing is in line with the Manufacturing Engineers Capacity Plan and ensure each introduction is managed correctly. (Validation Requirements, Documentation etc.)
• Attend PWR, Launch Review and Phase Gate reviews as the Manufacturing Engineer representative, and circulate the minutes among Manufacturing Engineer team.

Major Manufacturing Company looking for a very reliable and experienced maintenance team leader to act as the point of contact for all breakdowns and issues within the facility. The right maintenance team leader will be responsible for providing first line technical leadership, guidance and support for this very hands-on role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for health and safety of all direct reports and sub contactors working on behalf of the maintenance team.
• Own the day-to-day delivery of maintenance services, specifically preventative predictive maintenance, corrective maintenance and performance improvement for automation assets, observing work plan compliance to achieve equipment optimisation.
• Own the technical interface with operational cell managers.
• Looking after a small team of maintenance personnel, conduct regular development discussion meetings.
• Challenge unacceptable behaviour, promote lean working techniques and encourage a forward thinking culture.
• Support the maintenance supervisor, data gathering for engineering reports, root cause analysis of equipment failure.
• Ensure technical resource provision to meet maintenance plan and operational requirements.
• Regularly audit necessary maintenance tasks ensuring that people are working safely and within the risk assessment.
• Promote and deploy a flexible approach to new systems and ways of working. This will involve integration with operations to fulfil the goals of continuous improvement forums.
• To lead the delivery of maintenance operating procedures, and co-ordinate system administration to ensure continuity of information and maintenance management systems.
Characteristics and Requirements
• Qualified in either mechanical or electrical engineering with relevant industrial engineering experience a must.
• Experience of a similar role within a process/industrial engineering environment essential with a proven track record of managing teams in a dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation, formal qualifications in health and safety
• High level of verbal and written communication skills required.
• Familiar with Microsoft office packages.
• Driven and motivated with strong leadership skills in a challenging fluid environment.
