A well established system integration company that operates within the process related industries has an immediate vacancy for a Controls Engineer to be based at their site in the Warwickshire area. The company has been trading for over 20 years and the support of some of the leading control technologies in the industry. They are a multi million pound turnover company employing approximately 80 people at their UK site in Warwickshire where the vacancy is to be filled.
The Controls Project Engineer will work alongside and support the Engineering Director in all activities that fall into the area of control engineering
Main Responsibilities
Conceptual design of integrated process systems
Preparing detailed cost estimates and outline specifications
Writing detailed functional design specifications
Design of system architecture, network connections and interfaces primarily Ethernet, Devicenet, Profibus and Modbus
Production of PLC software (Allen Bradley, Siemen, Mitsubishi)
Production of HMI software
Familiarity with SCADA
Site installation and commissioning
Responsible for whole project
Skills
A minimum of 2 years PLC, HMI & SCADA programming experience
A good understanding of controls systems
Project / project management experience

The Opportunity
My client is currently seeking an Senior Electrical Safety/Compliance Engineer to carry out full safety assessments against European Standards (EN 60598). In this role the ideal candidate will have experience of managing or leading a small team of engineers and the ability to oversee the laboratory.
The position will involve testing the quality of lamps and luminaires to BSI standard (EN 60598) in a UKAS accredited laboratory. You will be tasked with performing of a wide range of tests to ensure the product will meet appropriate standards. Any non-compliance found with the product, was discussed directly with the customer to advise the appropriate course of action.
The duties will include
Testing of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical prototype assemblies
Safety and performance testing to BS EN 61347, BS EN 60598
Thermal and endurance testing to BS EN 61347, BS EN 60598
EMC compatibility testing to BS EN 55015, BS EN 61547, BS EN 61000
Photometric measurement of luminaires according to European and British Standards

The Role
Testing of clients products to internationally recognised safety standards, principally
