We have an immediate requirement for a Community Warden, based in Brighton. This role is initially temporary for 3 months, but could be extended for the right person. The main function of this role is to provide an initial contact point for residents within a housing estate. You will be required to work alongside the Police, Housing Officers and Community Safety Groups to improve living conditions by deterring crime & anti social behaviour and to help to create a sense of security among residents.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience of working as a Community Warden.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance works.
- An understanding of the quality of life issues of low income neighbourhoods & estates.
- A sound knowledge of IT applications - word, exel etc.
- The ability to walk up to 5 miles per day around housing estates.
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well known organisation. The standard hours of work will be 9am to 5pm, monday to friday. There will be an occassional requirement to work in the evenings with resident meetings.
