JOB DESCRIPTION/FUNCTION
Key job duties/responsibilities of QI/CMM Operator:
Job Knowledge.
1. Ability to read engineering drawings
2. Fabrication tack up inspection
3. Machined component inspection
4. Understand limits and fits as detailed on drawings
5. Understand Surface finishes
6. Be able to use measuring instruments, for instance, External Micrometres, Internal Micrometres Depth Micrometres, Tri – Micrometres, CMM.
7. Be able to calibrate workshop and inspection tools.
8. Conduct or assist in positive and negative pressure & leak tests.
9. Make out Inspection Reports copy and file.
10. Maintain contact with customers and outside inspectors on an ad-hoc basis.
11. Use of CMM & measuring equipment.
Knowledge and Educational Requirements.
1. Engineering background.
2. Minimum 3 years experience with manufacturing techniques is preferred.
3. Minimum 3 years in a quality environment.
4. Excellent computer skills, including, but not limited to: Windows, Office, Project, CMM software (QCT 2000), (PCD MIS) and (PD5500).
5. Excellent Communication skills.
6. Work independently, and proactively.
