Key duties would include:
Precision grinding mainly on a Jones & Shipman 540 with the ability to use Diaform and Optidress. The re-grinding, repair and maintenance of progression press tools. Fault finding and inspection of components and tooling using a Shadowgraph projector. Continuous improvement of existing tooling and the ability to aid in the design of new tooling. The making of small jigs and fixtures and parts for special purpose machines. To work from engineering drawings or when necessary to copy existing parts and determine acceptable tolerances. In their career to date ideally they would have gained experience of general tool room practices whilst working in a small efficient tool room environment. Our client is looking for a skilled Machine Setter for the special purpose needle manufacturing unit. The range of machines required to be set and controlled include Combination Presses; High Speed Combination Presses and Grinding Machines. Note that these are general purpose and not CNC controlled machines. Our needles are manufactured from carbon and stainless steels in diameters down to 0.010 inch and lengths down to 1.3 inch. Within each needle we punch an eye down to 0.055 inch long x 0.006 inch wide. The Person

A flexible positive approach towards team working, health and safety and hygiene standards are essential Knowledge of CAD, previous experience working with a maintenance scheduling system would be desirable. The Role
We are looking to recruit an experienced bottling hall electrical bias - maintenance engineer to join our engineering team at the Brecon Beacons plant.
The Beacons operate a fast-paced manufacturing facility with a wide range of equipment including bottle blowing machines, filling machines, a variety of conveyor systems, packaging and palletting equipment and much more. We have an immediate requirement for a electrical bias - maintenance engineer to join their maintenance team and undertake essential reactive maintenance duties as well as working to the planned preventative maintenance schedule.
You must be apprenticeship trained and have experience working within the food and packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have a good electrical/mechanical fault finding skills along with a good mechanical understanding. Experience of working on high speed packaging machinery and Siemens s5 & s7plc's is a requirement along with the ability to work using own initiative.
As part of the engineering team you will be responsible for the running, repair and maintenance of a large bottling plant, working closely with the production staff and management to meet production demands.
The Person
Qualification in related field with a minimum of 2 years related experience. In lieu of degree/qualification, a minimum of 4 years progressively responsible related experience may be considered Motivated, improvement driven with flexible 'can do' attitude PLC and Electrical experience essential Bottling experience is essential.
