To be responsible for the test development of an advance automotive infotainment feature from environmental, EMC and system testing through to the roll out of production test setups. The candidate will lead the development and support of the validation effort for the modules including test plans, test setups, working with third party test houses and the customer and eventual sign off.
Specific Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Reporting
o Develop customer specific DV test plans.
o Liaise with R&D project team members to define test cases.
o Provide clear & concise analysis of failure modes to project teams
o Define and coordinate the EMC testing of electronic test by managing outside suppliers.
o Coordinate EMC Testing for Developmental, DV and PV Testing with Program Management and Validation Engineering
o Supervise development of test equipment, fixtures and software (both in house and with third parties)
o Manage test houses and provide support at test facilities
o Analyze and interpret test data results from verification and validation testing and prepare technical reports for use by the engineering and management personnel
o Develop test processes and procedures for production testing.
o Support the roll out and commission of End Of Line tests in production
Test Case Solutions
o Developing test solutions using custom built test hardware.
o Schematics and block diagrams for test solutions
o Developing mechanical interfaces for mounting devices under test.
o Minimize test cycle times
o Provide work instructions to test houses to enable efficient transfer of test equipment
o Support Project team with analysis of failure modes
o Work with the Software Validation team to ensure complete test coverage of all requirements.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:
Engineering degree or equivalent
3+ years test engineering experience, including hardware and software testing.
Knowledge of accelerated life testing.
Knowledge of automotive environmental test procedures.
Knowledge of system testing
Experience with Production and End of Line testing
Desirable:
Automotive electronics background
Familiarity with automotive testing standards an advantage
Familiarity of a products development and lifecycle process.
Software engineering experience a plus. Standard office PC tools experience (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Travel domestically and internationally is required on a limited basis.
Must have strong relationship skills and a demonstrated ability to work within a team
Excellent communication skills at all levels within an organization both orally and written. Effectively present reports and data in presentation format.
