This is an exciting time to join this blue chip company as part of the Maintenance Team. You will be responsible for ensuring plant and machinery is maintained and operating to maximum efficiency. As well as maintenance they currently have forthcoming projects to install new machinery on site.
Duties and Responsibilities
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for repairing any breakdowns as requested and routine plant maintenance. You will need to be pro-active in avoiding downtime via effecting repairs/modifications prior to failure. As part of the role you will be required to cover shifts for other engineers who are on holiday or absent i.e due to sickness, being called away at short notice etc.
Person Specification
You will need to be an apprentice trained electrically biased engineer with City & Guilds or an equivalent level engineering qualification. As well as electrical skills a good mechanical appreciation is required. If you have experience of working within a plastics manufacturing environment this would certainly be advantageous although other industries will definitely be considered. This role would suit a flexible, responsible and dynamic individual who wouldn't mind stepping in to run the shift should it be required.

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
This is a great time to join this established high volume food processing company as a Maintenance Engineer. Working in this a 4on/4off rotating day role will be responsible for breakdown and re-active maintenance on a range of machinery that will include chillers, portioners, cutting machines, chain conveyors and much more. Electrically fault finding on PLC based systems, isolating electrics, repairs to inverters and drives and replacing like for like parts. Mechanically working on bearings, gearboxes and motors.
Applications for this position are invited from skilled maintenance engineers, qualified with Electrical City & Guilds or equivalent, with a very good mechanical appreciation(the role is 60% Elec, 40% Mech). The role would suit 'hands on' maintenance engineer with experience of working within FMCG/Food process environment.

Multi Skilled Performance Improvement Engineer (Mech Bias)
This is a newly established role and offers an exciting opportunity to join the maintenance engineering team as a Performance Improvement Engineer. The purpose of the role is to enhance key specialist skills required by the department at the same time as employing a multi-skilled approach to maintenance activities, which in turn will increase the individual levels performance of team member
The fundamentals of which are to restore, improve, maintain & plant & equipment in order to achieve optimum performance, while working safely at all times. Reporting to the Maintenance Improvement Manager, the Multi Skilled Performance Improvement Engineer is responsible for the completion of daily and weekly tasks in a timely manner, adopting an analytical approach to problem solving by using WCM tools, to identify the root cause of failures, proposing appropriate corrective/sustaining actions.
Key Activities
The completion of routine maintenance tasks scheduled in the department's activity plan, while understanding the KPI's, and how they impact on plant performance on a daily and weekly basis. Report any issues/barriers to the completion of the activity plan to the Maintenance Improvement Manager. When completing routine maintenance tasks, report any required follow up work via the CMMS at the same time as notifying the Maintenance Improvement Manager. Installation of plant and associated services. Training plant operators to improve their understanding of how the equipment works. Working with operators to return equipment to basic condition, clean, tight & lubricated. Lead improvement projects when nominated Actively work towards the continued development of the stock control system for maintenance spares. Qualifications & Specific Work Experience
Completed a mechanical maintenance/engineering apprenticeship. Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Mechanical to Electrical conversion. At least 4 years' experience within an industrialised manufacturing environment Familiar with organisational safety requirements e.g. Isolation & Permit's To Work. Using and interpreting engineering data. Bench fitting, basic workshop machining, welding & fabrication. Strong hydraulic experience along with pneumatic systems knowledge Ability to read and fault find from Mechanical/Hydraulic/Pneumatic drawings. Trained against the Electricity at Work Regulations. Competent to work safely carrying out basic electrical tasks, e.g. testing for a supply, test/replace fuses, reset/replace O/L's or MCB's, test/replace motors up to 5kw. Experience of working in a World Class Maintenance Department. Competent user of M.S. Office applications & familiar with the requirements of a CMMS
