We are resourcing a new opportunity for a Senior SAP Consultant with SD, MM or WM and sound Retail Industry experience for a company based in the London area.

Our client is embarking on a major strategic project to completely transform their IT strategy. Their vision is for an agile and highly responsive environment that will deliver the need for rapid innovation, whilst ensuring the reliability of their core operational services.
This requires an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to devise and deliver an innovative strategy to meet their sophisticated expectations. You will be called upon to define a clear and coherent roadmap for every layer of their technology stack and impressive applications array. Working closely with the Business Stakeholders you will analyse existing, future and emerging needs across the business landscape. Naturally you will also work closely with technical experts and key suppliers to guarantee the architecture and its interdependencies contributes to the key business objectives.
In detail this means you will provide high-level specialist expertise in systems design and technical architecture to shape the new strategy. You’ll also take personal responsibility for the strategic technical direction of the application portfolio and provide architectural guidance to Senior Management and senior stakeholders.
Ideally our client is seeking candidates with the following skills and experience -
- Educated to degree level in a scientific or technical discipline
- Significant experience as a solutions architect or in a similar capacity
- Responsible for architecting, designing and planning IT services in a medium/large organisation
- Broad knowledge and experience of all layers of the modern IT technology stack, including hardware, operating systems, network, application frameworks, database systems, vendor solutions and industry trends.
- Expertise in designing n-tiered web architectures, SOA and related technologies.
- Experience in using a visual documentation language, such as UML, to model software designs and systems architecture.
- IT Service Management (ITIL) Foundation and experience working in a structured service delivery environment.
Further desirable (but not essential) skills and experience could include some or all of the following technologies:
- SAP (particularly PI and BusinessObjects)
- Identity management systems
- Microsoft .Net, SQL Server, Active Directory, Sharepoint and Exchange
- Familiarity with open source solutions and approaches used in research environments
- PRINCE2 Project Management foundation
