IT recruitment resourcer to £16k + excellent commission scheme OTE To £25,000
We are looking for a recruitment consultant to join our team. Working in the IT sector, Blues Point is a highly specialised business that assists local companies to find candidates with the niche skills they need to fill their IT requirements. We work primarily with local candidates, from technical support people to business analysts to developers, consultants and project managers. Finding the right people can be a challenging job, and that is why we regard the role of the resourcer as a very important one. The person who joins our team will have the following responsibilities:
Searching for candidates with the right technical skills for IT jobs. This might be via searching databases online, using social networking tools, placing advertisements, good old-fashioned networking, or sometimes thinking outside the box.
Making contact with candidates to tell them about the vacancies so you will need to be able to talk with confidence about the role and the company.
Writing advertisements and updating our website and social media pages your written communication skills should be excellent.
Interviewing candidates at our Burton based offices
Dealing with clients over the telephone and negotiating job offers
Occasionally visiting client sites to discuss future requirements with them
The kind of person that we are looking for will have the following skills:
You will need to be a determined, tenacious hard worker with a positive attitude. The role of the recruiter is often challenging and repetitive and requires a dont give up attitude in order to reap the rewards.
You will need to have a basic grasp of how IT is used in business you dont need to be technical at all yourself but a little understanding will go a long way in our business in generating a rapport with your candidates and clients.
You will need to have excellent communication skills in person, over the telephone and via email.
You will be comfortable dealing with people at all levels of business, and confident at handling difficult situations under pressure. The role of the recruiter is a complex one placing a candidate in a role and delivering the good news to him/her might mean there are several other candidates for the same role to whom you will have to deliver bad news to. This requires a considered, sensitive approach.
Flexibility is very important. As a growing business we often rely on our consultants to multi-task, to keep an eye on someone elses workload during their absence, or to adjust their working day to accommodate candidates who find it difficult to speak during the day. This might mean that you sometimes start early or finish late. And in return, we will be as flexible as possible with you.
Any experience of recruitment, particularly in the challenging IT sector, is greatly welcomed, but it is not a must have for this position. Personality and willingness to learn is more important.
If what you are looking for is a large environment surrounded by hundreds of other consultants this is not the right role for you! You will need to be happy to work for a growing company where there is nowhere to hide. The benefit of this is that you will gain greater exposure to more aspects of the recruitment cycle and a great deal more autonomy and input. You will be able to become a better consultant.
A university degree would be advantageous also.
In terms of career progression, this is first and foremost a candidate resourcing position - but you will be rewarded with an excellent commission scheme that we believe will continue to motivate you while you are learning and growing as a consultant. You will gain exposure to account management and you will be involved in our marketing activities and there will be various career paths available to you if you want more from your role. As a growing business we will welcome your input into how we can improve the business.
You will need to be able to get to Burton on Trent on a daily basis, and ideally have a UK driving licence and your own transport. A basic salary of £15-16k is on offer and our commission scheme will take your earnings up to as much as £25,000 this is uncapped. We believe this is an excellent opportunity if you would like to be considered for it please send your CV in response to this advert providing a brief covering letter outlining why you think you are a good candidate for the role.
