Main Purpose of the role:
Our client is looking for Service Technicians/Engineers based in the East Midlands area to join their team in providing an installation service, for the service and maintenance of industrial doors and docking equipment to all our customers across the southern area of the Midlands.

The ideal candidate must have:
•You must be apprentice-trained or equivalent and fully conversant with electrical engineering disciplines to HNC or equivalent.

DescriptionRegister your CV Our Client is a large prestigious OEM currently seeking an Electrical/ Electronic Engineer to join their team.

Main Purpose of the role:

The employee is responsible for planning, implementing and developing processes and equipment for testing, configuration and validation of electrical systems on all the clients models. Also, responsible for facilitating the introduction of new models, options, features, and providing support for bespoke requirements.

Key role and objectives:

•Operating over a large variety of E/E disciplines and topics.
•Finding and obtaining information from relevant contacts.
•Creating a network of contacts covering a range of electrical disciplines.
•Electrical/Electronic systems are playing an ever increasing role throughout the automotive industry. Each new model introduces completely new technology and it is important to continually keep abreast of these changes.
•Management and prioritisation of daily tasks.
•Define hardware and processes for testing and commissioning E/E systems.
•Develop unique test software solutions for the client’s specific requirements.
•Determining whether an issue is potentially customer relevant (Raising an F2 Block).
•When to escalate problems to management.
•Health & Safety implications.
•Ensuring that tasks and data are completed to timing plan.
•Control of assigned E/E budget.
•Ensure volume targets are not hindered by provision of reliable, capable test systems.
•Assist E/E rework reduction, optimization of process time and right first time improvement
•Help achieve internal and customer quality targets.
•System specialist for all E/E production test/support software applications (CASCADE, EDIABAS, Carserver, NFS, FLS and ABS). Provide first-line technical support to all users of these systems (Analysis, After-sales, Prod. Line).
•Working in collaboration with suppliers from within the company to obtain, validate and distribute specialist support data for all E/E related systems at latest release levels.
•Extensive collaboration with external suppliers to develop streamlined hardware and software for test systems.
•Provide technical training for various associates at all levels of technical competency on E/E systems and processes (e.g. CASCADE test system operation, Battery handling process, ESD precautions). Provide ad hoc training as requested.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or a HND level in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent. Strong IT skills, knowledge of vehicle bus systems and the ability to prioritise tasks is required.

The candidate must have over two years relevant experience, preferably within automotive industry (vehicle production and/or component manufacture). A fluent English speaker with a working knowledge of German is desirable.

This will be a 3 year fixed contract and will be reviewed thereafter. Working 40 hours per week, hourly rate is negotiable.

DescriptionRegister your CV Our Client is a major 1st Tier Automotive Supplier based in the West Midlands. They are currently seeking an experienced EDS Design Engineer with experience of the automotive industry and has a sound working knowledge of CATIA V5.

Job Role:

This position provides the design interface between first tier and OEM automotive engineering centres based in UK It works as part of a small team of design engineers in the collection & assimilation of data to enable electrical distribution systems (EDS) to be designed, verified and validated whilst ensuring customer satisfaction throughout.

The purpose of the Role:

•To provide the design expertise ensuring best practice solutions required to achieve all programme EDS design deliverables.
•To carry out concept design studies utilising CAE tools and physical bucks.
•To prepare accurate & timely component drawings for release into customers system and first tier plants.
•To participate fully in on site evaluation of product at vehicle assembly plants
•To support all testing activities.
•To prepare and deliver clear, effective technical information to the customer.
•To support APQP activities where required.

Skills and Experience:

•Must have an engineering degree or equivalent experience (ideally in electrical engineering)
•Must have prior practical design experience with a first tier EDS supplier or from within the VM base is desirable.
•Must have CAD experience. (CATIA V5, Auto Cad as required).

•EDS manufacturing experience combined with DFM is desirable.

•A working knowledge of GPDS, DVP, FMEA & APQP is desirable.

•To be conversant with quality systems such as Q1, QS9000 & TS 16949.

•To know vehicle assembly processes, especially EDS related aspects.

•A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes is required.
