As the Quality Assurance Team Leader you manage a small team of QA's, ensuring that all products achieve the required quality, food safety and legal standards. You will implement and co-ordinate departmental quality systems, procedures and practices, ensuring consistent GMP is adhered to. You will investigate incidents, implementing corrective action, ensuring all HACCP's are under control. You will meet agreed customer specifications, dealing with any customer complaints and non-conformances, achieving the company's quality standards. You will oversee swab samples, check labels and codes, process audits and support the team in terms of any quality or legal issues relating to products.
The Quality Assurance Team Leader will have worked in similar roles within the Food Industry, having experience of looking after a small team. Your background will be as a QA Supervisor, Quality Controller, QA Technologist or a Quality Co-ordinator. A Food Technology/Science Degree or equivalent will be a huge advantage, as will knowledge of HACCP and BRC. Experience with process audits, metal detection tests and label specification would be ideal. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and train your team. As the role involves data input you will need to be computer literate.
