JP AERO are recruiting for one of our prestigious international clients in the North East, we require the services of a Workshop Technician for a Service and Repair department in the Newcastle area.
Applicants must be able to performs strip, inspection and maintenance activities on a wide range of pumping equipment. The work includes strip-down, inspection, ‘as found’ report writing dynamic balancing, rebuild, final ‘as built’ report writing and hydrostatic pressure testing.
Candidates should be qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline, have good fitting and mechanical skills and preferably familiar with alignment. A good knowledge of pumps, mechanical seals, piping systems and other pump related equipment is essential. You will be capable of working on own initiative with minimum supervision and will also be included on the existing dayshift / nightshift rota.
A flexible approach and current driving licence is required as you will be required to travel at short notice. Good oral, written and interpersonal skills are essential.
A good knowledge of health and safety is required. Lifting and slinging capability would also be advantageous.

My client is a leading supplier to the chemical, manufacturing and paper industries with steelwork fabrications, process pipework and mechanical solutions.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter, preferably time served, to join the growing team. The role would include working for local clients for whom you would be fault finding and providing solutions to mechanical breakdowns.
The Person
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in the following:
• Pipe work
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
• Mechanical systems, (including motors, chain and belt drives, bearings, sprockets etc.)
Experience using Saws, Drills, Lathes, Milling machines and some welding experience would also be an advantage.
