Responsible for:

Delivery of cleanroom / bio containment installation from award of contract through to completion.

Personnel Management:

Designated Site Manager and sub-contractors. Internal co-ordination of resources including Procurement/ Draughting etc.

Overview

To lead all assigned installations from the interpretation of outline design to production of the finished article; ensuring the facility fully matches the specification.

To take overall responsibility for assigned individual projects throughout their lifecycle covering all areas including quality of construction, technical performance, site management and health and safety. To take personal responsibility for assigned individual installations including contractual interpretation; risk identification; compliance and financial results.

As Project Engineer you must:

- Proven track record in project management including experience in HVAC installation, ideally cleanrooms.
- Demonstrable IT skills – including AutoCAD; MS Excel, Project etc.
- HVAC Design experience with working knowledge of psychometrics, plant and services sizing and routine light levels etc.
- Procurement and location of Mechanical and Electrical plant such as AHU’s etc.
- Demonstrable skills in Fit Out (partitions, suspended ceilings etc).

The following additional requirements apply: -

- This positions will involve travel throughout the UK and potentially abroad.
- Due to the nature of some projects the Project Engineer will be required to have a flexible attitude towards travel and working hours, outside of the normal 9-5.
- A full driving license is required
- All applicants will have to undergo a CRB check.
- Skills test at Interview.
- Located within 50 miles of the Kent office – this role will be predominantly office based.
- With frequent client interaction a professional appearance is expected at all times.

Key Tasks:

- To interpret the design of cleanroom and containment laboratories, to include finishes, HVAC systems and controls, ductwork, specialist cleanroom / laboratory envelope, electrical and mechanical services and specialist installations.
- To create all appropriate sub contract packages and procure all materials liaising with both external and internal suppliers on programme and within budget. To ensure all materials procured meet the defined design standard and criteria.
- To create and manage the project programme to ensure the defined key milestones are met and the client’s expectations are managed at every stage of the project lifecycle with effective communication.
- To report to the Project Department Manager on all relevant aspects of the ongoing project progression, e.g. programme/ finance / client relationships / contractual relationships etc.
- To take overall control and management of the profitability – providing transparent reporting of costs to internal clients as required (both Head of Projects Department and Finance Manager). Within this to ensure the internal financial processes are stringently followed (Purchase orders, supplier applications, client claims and Invoicing)
- To ensure all Project cost variations are both agreed with the client as well as procured/ implemented and managed effectively providing internal communication to the relevant parties at all times.
- To lead and control Site Management and analogous performance review visits – with the required focus on quality, safe working and programme.
- To complete all relevant project control information (including sending out client satisfaction questionnaires and monitoring/ providing ongoing solutions and input into Departmental continuous improvement.
- Working as part of a team to help assist and develop other team members in reaching their aspirations and continued personal development. Develop and maintain training sessions to train junior members of the projects department
- To work with all departments with CAT ensuring cross fertilisation of ideas and improvements as well as taking on board ideas for improvement.
- To ensure that all contractual and H&S elements are adhered to within the projects lifecycle and that any deviations are promptly notified as per the company’s procedures.
- Supervision and delivery of all requisite documentation, e.g. O&M’s etc
