My client, a leading medical device company have an exciting opening for an R & D Engineer on a 6 month contract in Waterford. The Job Challenge is to develop orthopaedic devices using novel proprietary materials and technology, that will deliver clear clinical, functional and economic benefits to patients, practitioners and healthcare organisations worldwide. Qualifications: Min 2.1 Degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, electrical or Polymer engineering, Chemistry, Biomechanics or Materials Science. Minimum experience and requirements: The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years "Hands on" experience (ideally in medical device development or manufacture) plus experience of product verification and validation procedures and techniques. You will have worked under an ISO 13485 or a related quality / regulatory system and are capable of managing projects from conception to product commercialisation. Familiarity with design and development procedures and experience of building or contributing to a "design history file" during product development is a distinct advantage. Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works or similar drawing packages is advantageous. Ideally the candidate will have experience of working with or leading small teams on product development projects. An excellent communicator and motivator with the a bility to "think outside the box" means you can work on your own initiative while your disciplined approach to problem solving and task completion ensures timely delivery of project milestones. A clean driving licence with own transport is required. Your tasks: * Prepare and review regulatory submissions for Ireland, UK and Europe * Provide technical expertise and project specific regulatory strategy * Act as a liaison between internal departments and external customers to support company projects * Develop a working relationship with clients, regulatory personnel in other companies, with the regulatory authorities and internal departments * Ensure the highest level of regulatory compliance with relevant organizational and Regulatory Affairs SOPs Your skills: * Third level scientific qualification * Two years experience in a similar role in the pharmaceutical industry * Previous working knowledge of country requirements/regulatory affairs procedures * Experience in CTD dossiers and post approval regulatory submissions * Regulatory submission experience in marketing authorisation applications * Knowledge of electronic submissions to regulatory agencies * Expert knowledge of European and global regulatory guidelines A very attractive daily rate is on offer.
