Monday 12th May 2008 IT Jobs to be created in Northern Ireland

Over 150 jobs in IT will be created in Northern Ireland after Fujitsu announced it will invest £8.8 million in the country.
IT jobs will be available in the north west of the province with 120 new posts in Derry and 30 jobs in the capital Belfast.
Economy minister, Nigel Dodds said: "Northern Ireland has developed a reputation as an excellent location for inward investors looking to expand into Europe. As a result of this reputation we have attracted a string of blue-chip companies in recent years."
Fujitsu already employs over 600 people with jobs in IT in Northern Ireland and that was a significant factor in the investment.
"This new centre of excellence will play an important role in rolling out our strategy of developing innovative delivery channels based on a global delivery model," said Mike Crow, head of application services with Fujitsu Services.
Fujitsu's investment is another boost for jobs in Northern Ireland as the news comes after Indian firm Firstsource unveiled plans for 800 new jobs in Northern Ireland earlier this month.
