Tuesday 3rd June 2008 Office development ceremony in Stockport

Hundreds of administration jobs could be created when a landmark office building is completed in Stockport, it has been reported. A ceremony was held for a new £13 million office building at St Peter's Square which will soon be finished, making jobs in administration available in the area. Council leader Dave Goddard said: "This ceremony marks a significant step forward in our ambitious vision for the town centre. This landmark building will not only create an exciting new gateway into the centre but will also attract major employers to invest in the town creating new jobs." Expected to be ready in June 2009, the development will be the first Grade A office accommodation in the town centre which is likely to appeal to investors. The energy efficient building is part of the Future Stockport project that aims to redevelop the town's retail area and to build more than 1,000 new homes.
