Jobs in sales will be available in Sunderland after Barclays expanded its call centre operations, the Northern Echo reports.
Up to 85 jobs in sales have been created at the Doxford International Business Park, in Sunderland after Barclays announced it would house its international service there.
Speaking to the Northern Echo, Alan Longmuir, head of premium segments at Barclays, said: "We are looking to recruit the best talent in the industry to provide a telephone-based financial planning service to our customers. It also provides an outstanding career opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in regulated financial services."
Doxford is Barclay's largest call centre in the UK with 1,600 people with jobs in sales employed there.
Councillor Paul Watson, leader of Sunderland City Council, told the Northern Echo: "It reflects Sunderland's growing position as a location specialising in some of the most highly skilled contact centre functions."
Further sales jobs are available at Doxford after energy firm EDF announced it will create 300 more posts at the business park.
