Wednesday 2nd July 2008 Skills centre will bring jobs to Whitehill and Bordon

Thousands of jobs could be brought to Whitehill and Bordon if plans for a new skills centre are approved by planning officials, reports the Bordon Post.
Around 2,000 are expected to be lost when the army leaves the town but the council is planning to construct a skills centre which will train job seekers and create new jobs in the area.
Councilor Ian Dowdle told the Post: "At the moment the prospects are looking very positive because of the massive change that is facing the town, particularly with the eco-town bid."
Job seekers are expected to learn computing and business skills which will make them available for , and .
"We would like to see it evolve into a college, so as the town grows the skills centre will change and grow with it and train people in skills that are going to required by the majority of employers," Mr Dowdle told the newspaper.
One possible location for the skills centre is behind Mill Chase Community Technology College and Hollywater School in Standford.
