Thursday 3rd July 2008 Car manufacturer to create engineering jobs

Over 100 jobs in engineering will be created after a luxury car manufacturer announced a recruitment drive, reports the Journal.
Around 115 jobs in engineering will be created in Newcastle after Rolls-Royce said it was looking to recruit apprentices from the area to train and make them ready for engineering jobs.
Rolls-Royce is looking to expand its operations with the influx of apprentices at its site near Vickers Defence and is aiming to recruit 160 people from the north east in jobs in engineering by 2009
Rolls-Royce NVQ assessor Tony Rowland told the Journal: "This year we will take on 115 apprenticeships and we aim to get them all jobs at the company of their choice and we aim to take on 160 people from the region in 2009."
Car manufacturing engineering jobs are also available in Birmingham after Jaguar Land Rover announced it would hire 600 people in engineering jobs at its plant in Castle Bromwich.
Rolls-Royce was established in 1906 by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce.
