Thursday 17th July 2008 Hotel brings jobs to Newcastle

Around 100 jobs will be made available in Newcastle after a budget hotel was given a makeover, reports the Shields Gazette.
Premier Inn which is owned by the Whitbread Group has unveiled a £2 million refurbishment of its South Shields hotel which will create about 100 part-time and full-time jobs.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Whitbread support manager Scott Ramsey said: "We already have about 50 staff working in the hotel, but we are looking for an extra 100 people, both full and part-time, for our new restaurant, which will be launched in September."
The new jobs will be available in September so job seekers should submit their CV before the end of next month.
"Now we are in the middle of a £1m development of the adjoining restaurant into Whitbread's latest concept, called Taybarns, which is based on an American idea, with the emphasis on high quality food," Mr Ramsey told the Shields Gazette.
Premier Inn was established in 1987 and now has more than 500 hotels and motels nationwide, it has been reported.
